Surgeon Testimonial

John W. Baker M.D.
I attended my first seminar this week, and everything is so interesting. I am looking forward to my surgery. Dr. Baker seems really supportive of his patients.rnMy sister is my initial supporter, and she also is going to have the surgery. rnI hope to find the answers to some of the questions I have on this site. (questions to be posted when I have them all in order)rnI will post more as I move along with my progress, and office visits, and get answers to more questions I have for him and the staff.

I finally had my day
posted on 4/6/10 4:20 pm
I had my surgery Monday March 29th 2010 around 5 in the afternoon. I was in the hospital until friday morning, they kept me a couple extra days because I was dehydrated.
I was glad to get to come home, where I was on full liquids until Sunday, then scooted on over to soft/puree foods where I will stay until May 2nd. Then I am off on my own two feet to explore the most important part of The New Meee...
I have been reading about many different experiences on OH, and they helped me to prepair for parts of my journey.
But I am just amazed that I havent had any ill side effects yet. Not saying I wont in the future, but am hoping all stays well here.
I had the open RNY procedure, and I feel pretty good with it. No nausea, stomach upset, extra pains etc...
I have some muscle pain, a little more today than the past few days, because I tried to do my usual bill paying/shopping trips (I didnt lift anything tho), and today I am paying for it with sore muscles from hell. lol I wont be trying that again anytime soon. And I have to watch sitting at my desk, it rubs my inscision some when I forget to put my pillow on my tummy hahaha. But Iwill be on here more sometime soon. If you dont see me post, dont think I am not around, because I will be lurking somewhere.
I had started my food journal when I started my liquid diet, and have only missed the days I was in the hospital, and days I have been out of town for appointments. I promised myself that I will actually try to keep up with 90 percent of my food, liquid, vitamin, and medicine that passes through my mouth everyday. This is going to be a task for me for I have started personal journals before and never finished them. I have this one right in front of my face at my desk where I spend most of my day.
I am going to make up some excercise charts up for myself, and keep them in a folder in the room with my treadmill  and stationary bike are. Then I will be able to log it down on paper. Tricks for the mind! (hope they work)
I will be glad when I lose enough weight to be able to ride my new bicycle I bought last fall. I love bike riding.
I have been scouring profiles and the forums looking for some soft food ideas, anyone think of something good let me know please.
I weighed on my scale this morning and it showed I weigh 379.6 pounds, so that is going to be my post op starting point for health tracker, and Realize my success journals. And I promised myself I wouldnt be a scale whore either. lol
Well it is about my bedtime now so sometime in the near future I will post another blog.
  Everyone have a wonderful day...
