02/24/2008 Ok so here is my story on the eve of my surgery.I am 45 year old married almost 25 years and unlike a lot of people I have not been overweight my entire life. I was actually very thin until my mid twenties after having my second child I became what most people call overweight. At age thirty, after having my third and last child I was considered obese tipping the scales around 220 lbs. From there it just went on out of control. I am now over 250 lbs. I ate for a lot of different reasons. Depression, boredom, comfort etc. But most of all I just like to eat. Simple as that. Unfortunately for me I love to cook so when I was home when the kids were small I would cook big meals every night and don’t forget desert. Fortunately none of my children have a weight problem. They are now 24, 22 and 15. I have a beautiful granddaughter Ava who is 7 months old. I have tried most every diet on the planet like the rest of you. Sure I lost weight on most of them but I always gained it back plus more. (((Helloooo Diets Don’t Work))). I have been researching WLS for about a year now and decided this was the only way for me. Everyone should make their own choice as to what is best for them. I did my homework.I am grateful to OH for giving us this forum. Support is number one for success.I am certainly looking forward to becoming a healthier person. Updates to follow.
