Surgeon Testimonial

David Engstrand, M.D.
Dr. Engstrand has been my doctor through out this for the last year and a half. He had a hard time remembering who I was each time I saw him but then again I didnt see him on a constant basis. Now the my surgery is done and over with I think I appreciate him more.

A much needed update
on July 26, 2011 3:26 pm
This journey has been long and hard. I started at an amazing 288 and now am down to a good 145. I'm still in shock, and so are half the people in my life. I am WAY more active, way more happy. The down side is that i do have saggy skin, and i am not self conscious then ever but hey, I'll take it. I can walk more then a block without wanting to stop. its awesome. I do plan on having skin removal surgery and keeping on track with my goals.

It was a long road and will continue to be, but I'm prepare to do the work and keep it up!

Not so worried.
on September 17, 2010 8:08 pm
I see on the message boards that everyone is so worried about stalling and i feel like that i didnt get this surgery to loose a 30 pounds in a week. I did it to help my health and body. And the weird thing is it sucks when I try to exercise, I feel out of breath in like 2 minutes. All I know is this pneumonia isnt helping me loose any weight and exercise is hard for me. I wish things were different but I'm not going to sweat the small stuff because I know I will reach my goal eventually. I'm just taking my time and feeling this out because I have no idea how to feel and such so its best sit back and relax.

p.s.  totally can't wait to take a relaxing bubble bath when I hit my first goal!

Going through the motions
on September 1, 2010 2:08 pm
I'll officially be 4 weeks post-op tomorrow but I still have no energy, I'm loosing my hair, and its hard for me to even work. I envy those who get out of surgery and feel 100% within days. I am scared if i ask off for more time that I will be let go, and with classes starting up I am also scared how to handle that issue. I know this is suppose to help me in the long run but right now it feels like its not worth it.  Also on top of that I have to move outta my apartment into a new one. Oh the life of a college kid. I wish God would give me a break right now, cause I really need one.
