Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.
I have been overweight about as long as I can remember. In high school I would struggle to stay under 140, over the years that number crept up to 200 then 220. After I had my second child the number was suddenly 300 and after my third child staying under 300 became a bigger battle. I ate when I was happy to celebrate, I ate when I was sad and then I just ate and ate and ate some more. In October of 2011 I was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea. The doctor told me I held my breath more then I breathed. Shortly after that I had a heart scare that required an echo and then a treadmill test. It was at that point I decided I had to try something else. It was time for surgery and if I was going to do it I was going all in with gastric bypass.
