Lookers

Apr 20, 2011

I went shopping last night (what's new right lol). Picked up some bras I ordered at Lane Bryant (yes I wear a 36C and still buy them from Lane Bryant, I love the support). And returned a dress at Marshalls and looked around at the shoes.

Anyways.... I don't know if I was just being super self conscious or what, but I felt like everyone was looking at me! I felt eyes on me the whole time I was at Marshalls, and even when I was trying on the bras at Lane Bryant and I had to go get another size (I put my shirt back on, don't worry) .... The lady in the fitting room was just staring! And I realized, I'm TOTALLY not used to that. When I was plus sized I kinda always just melted into the background I guess. No one ever flat our stared. But last night, they did. I began to wonder if I had something on my face

So that got me thinking about how I NEVER get hit on by men. I can be at a book store, walking through the mall, at the grocery store, etc ... and Not once has a stranger hit on me. I wonder why that is? I'm cute enough, I dress nice, I smile at people. Hmmm......
It doesn't matter, I'm happily taken. But I just find that funny.

In other news. I stepped on the scale this morning and it said 139.2 !!!  Granted, it was first thing in the morning and I was nekky.... But still, Holy crap!!!!! I'm in the 130s!!!!!!!!!!!! NO WAY!

Here's a picture of my shoes I bought. The lighting is horrible. But they're a silvery color.

Shopping addiction??

Apr 18, 2011

Anyone that knows me knows I LOVE to shop! Even when I was plus sized. I'd go out for HOURS not only looking for the cutes items I could find, but for the cutest items I could fine for a DEAL!

Now that I'm in "normal" sizes it's out of control! I expected this. I knew I'd enjoy shopping that much more once I had the luxury of shopping anywhere I wanted (wallet permitting).
Now, mind you .... I'm very thrifty. I went to Marshalls last week and got a pair of black capris (size 5) for $5, and from Dots I got 2 blouses each $7 and a pair of slacks for $9. SCORE!!!!!

Sales are like crack to me! Got a swimsuit at Old Navy for 60% off (pic in my "at goal" album). Flats from the Gap $15. Oiiii...... I can go on and on.

I tried on a Maxi Dress over the weekend as well. Now, I used to steer clear of Maxi dresses because they were so long and flowy and I always felt like I looked about 10 months pregnant in them. But, I figured I'd at least try it on. It looked ADORABLE!! (pic below) ... It also came in blue which I liked a little more.

I also found a pair of heels I really wanted (Madden Girl) for $20, and some jean capris. Yeeaaaaaaa...... Needless to say as my wardrobe expands my bank account cringes. Even when things are on sale, $9 here and $15 there tends to add up.
But, I'm choosy and try and only buy things I know I'll get a lot of wear out of.  BUT.... I love it! It makes me happy in the heart

In other news, my guy Mike joined a Kickball League here in Albany. I went to his first meet last week and they asked (read begged) me to join because they don't have enough girls on the team. So, I reluctantly and hesitantly said I'd do it! I'm super nervous because although it's just a game.... I'm not very coordinated for team sports. But, we'll see what happens. LOL wish me luck!

Speaking of Mike.... Him and I are doing really REALLY good. He makes me so happy.
We've decided to start doing P90X. I did the Plyometrics routine yesterday and could only do half. I was DYING! But, I figure (and Mike is helping me see the light on this) .... if people that are in worse shape than us can do it ... Then we can do it and not have any excuses! So, I'm just going to KEEP PRESSING PLAY!

I've been trying to eat well lately too. TRYING to cut back on my carbs again cause they just sneak right in there.

Anyways..... thinking of heading to Marshalls tonight after work. I saw a pair of Puma cleats there for $15. And if I'm on a kickball league I'll need cleats, right? LOL

Hi - My name is Karly and I have a Shopping addiction.

My sad, sad hair

Apr 08, 2011

My hair looks like a stringy crackhead. So thin, limp, and just all-in-all bad!
I used to have such thick, healthy, gorgeous hair!

I know, it'll grow back. I just miss it.
Here's a before and after on my face and hair.

8 months out! I should stop losing?

Apr 04, 2011

Hey OH Family!

Today I'm 8 months out from RNY. I had an appointment with my Nutritionist today and according to her scale I'm at 145 lbs!
That is a loss of 127 lbs from my heaviest, and 98 lbs since surgery! Wowza!!!
I've lost 91% of my excess weight! Incredible!

She asked me what a typical day of eating is for me and if I exercise. I ran through what I "generally" eat .... Greek yogurt for breakfast, Chili or grilled chicken for lunch, and usually grilled chicken for dinner with salad or a side of veggies.
I told her how we do Power 90 6 days a week, and how I do Pilates and Yoga each once a week.

So, she told me I'm doing amazing and that she doesn't want me to lose anymore weight. She said I could eat whatever I want now (stressing the IN MODERATION point), but to try and stay away from simple carbs and all the white foods like rice, chips, breads, etc. But she said since I'm exercising I could add in another meal such as yogurt or apples with peanut butter to give more calories and protein with good carbs and that would be fine. But basically I shouldn't lose anymore weight.

Besides my visit with my nutritionist ..... Everything else is going good too!

My hair loss seems to be slowing a little (Thank baby Jesus!).  Although it hasn't stopped completely, I don't notice handfuls coming out at a time anymore. And I see the little baby hairs sticking up on the top of my head that are just starting to grow in. So there's hope that soon enough I'll have my thick head of hair back! Yays!

The BF and I just discovered we really like Soy Milk! And, the BF makes an Amazing chocolate protein/soy milk/peanut butter/banana protein shake. YUMMERS!

I'm really super-duper excited about Spring coming this year. Our winter has been BRUTAL and long! And now that I'm 120+ pounds lighter I am so excited to go hiking, kayaking, camping, rafting, etc. BRING IT ON!!!!!
