Surgeon Testimonial

Jamie Loggins MD.
I saw his picture in the local paper advertising a informational meeting. Liked his face, what can I say. So, I went, sweating, short of breath, couldn't go in, walked around, then wnet in....hey, wasn't the biggest girl there, phew.rnHe was informative, abit cool, but warmed up, was so proud of his program and staff, and just made me feel like if he felt that way about them, how does he feel about his patients.rn Everything was explained at length and throughly, with a 40 minute video that went through all the stages with real people, and then Dr, Loggins had invited 2 graduates to be available, and also, wheich I foulnd interesting, a plastic surgeon to speak about the afternath of drastic weight loss. They were not dodging any subject and I was impressed. But I have to say, the plastic surgeon did not make it sound great, even repairs.Disfiguring scars came up , alot!rnCalled my PCP the next day and asked for a referral. Hasn't been done yet, but Monday, then I don't know how quickly they respond...so, here I go.rnrnI met with the team yesterday, haven't met the nutritionist, yet, but to a person, they were so supportive and informed. Wow.rn

I am so busy, I haven't been posting some lurking but here I am just trying to keep up.
We have sold our house and bought another. Leaving your home of 28 years is tough and as I pack the boxes of our lives I have to stop and reflect on all the memories of our time here, raising our babies, launching them, launching me into a new career. Through it all the house stood, like it has for over 100 years, embracing the changes we have made and holding us tightly.
Now another family has purchased the right to make it their home, changing what they will to make it personal and special to come home to, just like we did 28 years ago. I do not begrudge them that.  Rick and I are moving on.
The memories stay with us.

oh, and i've finally lost that 4 #!!! lol 4 more to go for my Century card! 10 more to goal-and plastics consult!

March 31st!
on April 2, 2009 11:23 am
Forgot to check in with everyone yesterday to celebrate my one year Surgiversary!!! I can't believe a year has passed already!  I see Dr. Loggins tomorrow in Lewiston and I guess my NUT, had blood drawn on Monday so I am sure they will have some results but not all.
What a year this has been, besides regaining my health , energy and sense of myself, I have met so many wonderful people on this board, I feel I have made some life time friends.  This is such a unique experience that only you all know what I have been through. You lifted me up when times were tough and set me down when I needed settin'.  I wouldn't be here without all of your support.
Remembering my sister, who died Dec 05 at age 51, and my brother who died May 07 at age 46 who were the reason for me to go to the informational meeting and get this DONE-I am forever grateful to My God for seeing me through this year and giving me another chance to live longer and better.
Thank you all! Love you lots!!

I haven't posted in 3 months??? How can that be??? I am GREAT!! Still at 142-up and down but am back from the Bahamas where I ran 2.5 miles a day-that's right ran!!! The weather was 72-78 every day most days sun, and what a boost, to leave the frozen tundra and get to the sunny beaches. While we were gone Maine had about 4 feet of snow and it was cold and windy everything I hate, hate hate!
My journey continues with working out 3 days a week a Curves where I am burning 400-500 calories a workout, the new Curves Smart is awesome.  I have lost 6 " in 2 months-I think alot of that was the month in the Bahamas running, but no worries, it is gone.  I am going to start runing here as soon as the weather gets warmer, I really don't like the cold, have I menetioned that?
All the family was here last weekend, my DD and her fiance and baby boy, my grandson Jaxson.  WE had a blast, great visit. The WHOLW fam went out to dinner on FRiday night to our fav restaurant along with my brother who is still here, and honestly, the food was so secondary to my bliss of enjoyment-just looking around the table to see all 3 of my kids and there kids, all 3 of my grands, my DH and my bro, it was a special night.  FIrst time my middle son has been able to bring himself to join us all in public-he is emotionally disabled and doesn't do crowds-so BLESSED!!
Am starting to think about plastics, will have to wait for another 6 months or so, and finacially maybe another year but no worries. I can tuck things in. Guy at curves said, that is why your tummy hasn't lost, its cause of the skin-like I didn't know THAT LOL. I will continue to work hard at fitness-period.
My 1 year surgiversary is coming up on Tues the 31st. I can't believ a year is over all ready.  It has been the toughest most amzing year of my life.
I thank God for:
BP normal
Cholesterol FINE
no longer a diabetic

Merry Blessed Christmas!!
on December 23, 2008 5:54 am
Hi all my dear friends,
I have been taking a break from the message board, got really overwhelmed by all the chit chat so have been silent for alwhile.
Just got back yesterday at 4 from a long weekend in New York.  Went down with my DIL and grand girls ages 9 and 6, and visited my DD and SIL(almost) and my grandson for his 1st birthday!!!!!!!!!!! DD and the baby came to the hotel and stayed with us and we went into NYC on Friday to go to the American Girl doll store on 5th  AVe to have lunch-so special for the grands- and we were suppose to shop and go to the Statue of Liberty.  Of course, woMan plans and God laughs so we had the first major snow storm in New York city.  We made it to the Doll store, had lunch, bought the girls each a new doll for the Christmas present, DD bought them some assessories and then we scrambled in the driving wet snow and wind 9 blocks back to Grand Central and just caught the train back to Beacon, NY where I had parked the car millions of miles away form the station cause I had no permit!  After cleaning the car off it took us 45 minutes to drive 4 miles on I-84-2 exits!!! to get us back to the hotel where we were snowed in for the next 24 hours.  GS's birthday party was Saturday, we made it to DD's house for that, slowly!!! Good time...eh...some drama from his family but- enuf said...then everyone back to the hotel(we had a 2 room suite upgrade cause the guy was so nice) and then 8 of us got snowbound Sunday in the room.  WE had pizza and  then Boston Market then DD and SIL and bebe wnet home around 7:30 the roads cleared.  Of course there was a huge storm in Maine so we didn't start driving until Monday, and it was clear all the way home.  pHew!! Was that enough??  Handled food great, no incidents, took my protein powder with me, so always had that in a pinch. Lost 1/2 lb to boot!!
So, have a wonderful Christmas everyone, I will post again after the holidays.  I am working just one day a week because of the holiday schedule.
Love and peace. Happy Birthday Jesus!!! and to God goes the Glory for this year!!!!
