Surgeon Testimonial

Robert B. Shin, M.D. F.A.C.S
When I first met Dr. Shin I was very impressed. I met him at the same time as about 30 other people interested in having gastric bypass surgery or the lap-band procedure done. My very first consultation with him alone I knew he was the dr for me. He is very thorough and makes sure you know everything you need to know. During my surgery and hospital stay he was awesome. I am so happy I chose him. Any problems I had after the surgery he was quick to call me back within 5 minutes of calling his on call nurse. I am very pleased with Dr. Shin in each and every of aspect. I could never have asked for a better dr.

Feeling Great But Still Continue to Worry!!
on April 23, 2008 12:35 pm
So today I went out to lunch with my mother. Something I avoid doing anymore cause it is a headache to try to find something I can eat, that and because I hate paying so much for a meal when I know I can't eat it all. She says I am just worrying but I feel that I am eating more than I should. I ordered a house salad, which came in a small bowl you would eat cereal in and I didn't eat half of it but I still worry. But I feel great. I am wearing clothes I haven't been able to wear and I share my clothes with my neice who is so tiny. Not her jean (yet anyway) but her shirts! That makes me happy. I also feel I look worse now since loosing weight..lol. Crazy huh. Not to be to direct or out of term but my chest bothers me so much. Any of u have breast augumentation? But all in all, I feel so much better and am having so much more fun than I have had in forever. I don't regret this at all no matter how much I worry or become paranoid.

My Story

My name is Nicole, I am 26 yrs old and a proud mother to my daughter Cheyenne 7, and my son Dakota, 5, and a third if you count my neice Courtney who is 16.  I had gastric bypass surgery last September. On my surgery day I weighed 284 lbs and hated myself for the way I let myself go. I was small all thru high school but after graduation I got married and then after two kids I blew up like a balloon. I tried everything to lose weight. Nothing worked. The Atkins diet was the best. I would lose quickly but then it seemed like I gained it all and then some back. My weight stayed around 230-240 lbs. Christmas Eve of 2005 my father unexpectedly passed away. Afterwards I neared the 300 lb mark and couldn't do anything. I hated to walk, I hated to play with the kids. My legs and feet stayed so swollen they hurt. My heart was giving me problems. I would go to the dr and everything came back to my weight. When I started having heart problems that changed everything since my father died of Congestive Heart Failure due to his weight. I started my journey to have Gastric Bypass in January of 2007. It was a long wait and me being so impatient didn't help matter. The last of August I finally got the call my insurance approved my surgery. I will admit I was in pain afterwards but it slowly got better and the weight started falling off. I did and still do have problems with vomitting. Some things don't bother me one day and then they do another. But all and all I am glad I went thru with it and would do it all again pain and all. I feel better and look better. I have more energy and am more condident. I know have a job with Pampered Chef working hands on with people I don't know all day long and I wouldn't have done that 7 months ago. I have more confidence and it shows. I highly recommend this to anyone who struggled like I did....
