Wednesday is your day! Just remember you are on the journey of a lifetime. Try to enjoy every minute. It may sound weird now, but know that you are cared for and prayed for here, and all too soon this will be but a memory and you will be an inspiration to someone else. I am waiting for you on the losers' bench!

Can't believe its been 6 months already. Down 106 pounds and counting. I have been exercising at least 1 hour or more a day and that really seems to help with the losing.

Lovin life! Will post again later.

Hah! I made it through the surgery in one piece...and am on my way! Feeling good...a little loss of energy but not too bad! Glad to be home in my own surroundings.  Missed my little dog (not to mention my husband).   The pounds are already starting to fall off. It's still hard to get use to drinking the protein drinks but I guess they're a necessary evil. Even the tasteless taste like crap...

Well, I'm 2 days away from the start of my way to losing. I have been on the 2 week shake diet...and have tried my hardest to stick with it. (had a few slip ups, nothin major) and can hardly wait until Wednesday. I have lost 33 pounds pre-surgery date and look forward to looking and feeling much better in the months to come.

Today is a day off for me because of Veterans Day so I've pretty much spent the day with my little dog Gulliver just hangin out.  I have to work tomorrow but am getting off early to do the "bowel cleanse".  I work for the Fire Department with all the firemen and paramedics. Great place to work and I will miss them for the next couple of weeks but I've been assured it will be there when I come back.

Glad to have a friend in JudyAnne. Please write me when you can. Cabo sure looked fun! Mexico is one of my favorite places to visit...Hope to go again in the skinny.

Until later........

My Story

10-15-07

I have been overweight the majority of my life, except for a few years in my early twenties when I was lookin pretty good! I am now in my late fifties and have many medical problems which I hope to resolve with the gastric bypass.

I have done all of my paperwork and been approved by my insurance (just today) for my gastric bypass. I am now just awaiting a surgery date...and waiting...and waiting.

I can hardly wait until I am able to go for long walks, climb stairs without effort and just have a much better, happier life. I have been attending Support Group meetings for the past 3 months and will continue to do so after my surgery. I think they are an important element of this whole process and the people that show up are such an inspiration.

I would love any feedback from anyone.

Update: 10/24/2007---SKIPPY DOO....I am scheduled for RNY (11/14/07)....
