Wednesday is your day! Just remember you are on the journey of a lifetime. Try to enjoy every minute. It may sound weird now, but know that you are cared for and prayed for here, and all too soon this will be but a memory and you will be an inspiration to someone else. I am waiting for you on the losers' bench!

Your big day is almost here! Are you excited? Nervous? A little scared? If you are, that is normal. You are about to embark on the journey of a lifetime, a real life saver. The surgery works if you live the new lifestyle. Follow your surgeon’s orders and watch the pounds melt away. I am so happy for you! That said, I am sending positive vibes for you to have an uneventful surgery and a speedy pain free recovery. There is a seat on the “Loser’s Bench” with your name on it.

Well, it’s official! You’re on the losing side. The trumpets are blaring, the cymbals are crashing and the drums are drumming – all for YOU! I hope that all went well for you! Your journey will have moments to “pause” - Feel free to look at my profile and see my ups and downs and know I’d not change a thing with anything I’ve experienced. Everything was worth it! – I’d like to impart some words of wisdom for when it does occur - remember these wise words whispered by Confucius – “It does not matter how slowly you go so long as you do not stop.” Be patient. You didn’t put it on over night, it won’t come off over night (DARN IT!)…Don’t forget to update your profile at least monthly and take lots of pictures…the transformations will make your jaw drop!!! RNY 10/31/03 257/133 Good luck!

on September 12, 2007 11:59 am
Well I guess all I had to do was call. I called and told them I finally got to my goal weight!  So they set my surgery for 10/3/07!!!  Can you believe it! less than 3 weeks away!!

Getting ready by working out and dieting of course.  Can't wait for this life style change. I'm scared, but I feel good at the same time.

Love,
Katie

Back Tracked!
on August 14, 2007 1:17 pm
The thing is my sister was here from out of town and I totally sabotaged my diet, more than a few times.  I now have to start all over because I was doing soo great!  I am in need of losing 11 lbs now, and last week it was only 8, so you can see how bad I did.

I am back on track, going to gym, drinking protein drinks and watching late night eating, and of course, drinking lots of water. Hopefully it doesn't take me that long to lose these 11 lbs! i'm sooo upset but can't give up!

382, slowing getting there
on August 1, 2007 10:33 am

Ok, I have to admit, I have had some struggles.  Although I was eating very well in the beginning, I have fallen off the wagon.  I beginning to think this journey is too hard.  But I have to be positive and not give up.  Ok, so now I am 383, which means I still need to lose 12lbs.  But I am getting there and although I don't go to the gym everday, I am still going.  In fact I went yesterday and I am going today again.  I decided to drink more protein drinks in order to lose this weight to get into the surgery.  I think within 2 weeks I can probably get down 8 or 9 lbs, which is all i really need in order for the dr. to approve me.  So its countdown.

Exercise &
Water

Those are my tools.  What are yours?

386 and counting down
on July 2, 2007 3:39 pm
Since my last post a number of things have happened:

1) found out I have gal stones.
2) went ER because of pain from GalStones.
3) joined a gym
4) Lost 13 lbs.
5) Started eating right and moving more.

My Dr. said it is absolutely necessary to get my galbladder removed and he would like to do the procedure at the same time we do the WLS.  Well in order to get the WLS i need to weigh at least 371. Which means I need 15 lbs to go!  I am working out and eating right, which means eating practically nothing at all! but I am happy because my diet is working and I have already lost 13lbs.

I am hoping by late August or Early September I will be able to get the surgery!

3/29/07
on March 29, 2007 4:43 pm
My surgeon has contacted me and said that he is good to proceed with the surgery as long as I get a Thyroid Test done and get down to my goal weight of 371.  Well on Monday, 3/26/07, I went to weight watchers and got on the scale.  I nearly fainted when I saw the number 399!  I have gained so much weight! I have to lose 30 lbs in order to get the surgery! I am so upset w/myself.  I let myself eat high fat things all the time and never exercised.  My baby is now 10 months old and I have nothing to show for that time.  I am going to work very hard to get down to 371 very soon so that i may have the surgery at least by summer, but i won't get my hopes high.  My husband and I just celebrated our 4th year anniversary and we went on a cruise with our friends! I was very disappointed afterwards at seeing the pictures, because I am definetly fatter than ever!  I know I should not get down on myself, but I really did bad this time. Things are going to change w/ weight watchers.  They have a new program and now you can have more points if you weigh more like me, which will help me stick to do the diet and lose weight successfully.  I will keep you posted with the news of my upcoming surgery.
