Surgeon Testimonial

Keith Chung, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. Chung and his staff are very friendly and informative. I would recommend them to anyone. My lapband surgery went well and I had some pain but was able to go home the same day. The pain subsided by day 3. Dr. Chung and the people he works with at the hospital and office are wonderful.

11mths out yesterday
on June 18, 2008 8:51 am
I just wanted to let everyone know how I've been doing and what I've been up to since I haven't been on in a while. I am now just a half a pound shy of loosing 100 pounds.  Im wearing a size 12.  So Ive come leaps and bounds from the begining of this journey.   I haven't been on in a while because I have been in the process of moving and getting everything done.  Life is good.

First Fill
on August 23, 2007 7:51 am
My first fill was 1.5cc's and it was completly painless and fast. That was so suprising. I will be able to go in and get another fill in a month. So far  I can't really tell the diffirence with it being filled versus wide open but I know it can take a couple more fills till I get restriction.  Thats the latest!!

Almost 3 weeks out
on August 4, 2007 8:28 pm
Well Im almost 3 weeks out and I can't wait for a fill. I can now eat almost just as much as I did before surgery. I really don't want to be able to eat that much but thats what it takes to keep me full.I have managed to keep a steady 5 pounds off. I guess its normal to be getting my regular app. back.  I've been sticking to protein first, then veggies, then carbs in moderation. I've seen people on here say that is how it is before fills. 2 weeks till a fill.

My Story

Well, I'll just start here. I'm from Lake Charles, LA. I'm kinda new at this. I'm a 26 year old wife to a awesome husband and mother of two girls ages 7 and 4. As long as I can remember I've always been a little heavier than everyone else. In high school I was prob. weighing in at 160 and thats quiet abit for someone my height. I'm only 5 foot 1.5 inches tall. I've always eaten alot but I guess since I was semi active back then it kinda kept my weight under control. I was about a size 13 then. Right after graduating high school I got married and had my first daughter and my weight jumped to 180 and slowly kept climbing up. Then about 3 years later I was pregnant again for my second daughter and was diagnosed with gestational diabetes. After I had her my weight started climbing again I was around 210 after I had her. She is 4 now and I am up to 260 pounds. I'am really intrested in the lap band procedure and have been researching it for about a year now. I want to get banded soon before things get worse. I believe the insurance provider we have will cover it. It just will take a couple more weeks before I am able to see doctors because he has only been on the job about three weeks and there is a 30 day waiting period.  That is my story short and sweet.
