Feeling a bit blue...
on October 25, 2007 10:16 pm
Today is what would have been my dad's 69th birthday. We lost him in '96 due to a massive heart attack, which makes this one of the most important reasons I am having this surgery. It's still so hard. I miss him.

I went to a seminar for Pacific Bariatrics last night. Dr. Zorn was the speaker. I really liked him. He has a great sense of humor! lol I think I've made my mind up to have surgery in San Diego. I can hit Seaport Village before I come home...lol

My prayers go out to the victims of the fires. We had a brush fire not to far from us a couple days ago, at Cherry and the 210, but it got knocked down pretty quickly. One of my company's artists lives in San Diego and his storage place went POOF! He lost a lot of his older artwork that was in there. I feel so bad for him, but am happy that he and his family are okay and that their house remained untouched, except for a singed vegetable garden.

It was an awesome, emotional and inspiringly blessed weekend. The topic was "His Special Treasure" Titus 2:14. About how we are His special treasure and we need to treat Him as ours. I am getting a copy of the series on cd this coming Sunday. =)

My Busy Life...
on October 15, 2007 5:52 pm
Sorry I haven't been around much the past few days... Friday, Matthew left for Arizona with his mom for his uncle's funeral, so I had to hold down the fort cleaning house and grocery shopping. I did get my hair done too...it looks so much better. Saturday, was the support group meeting which was nice. Then it was home to continue house cleaning. Showered and got my hair styled for a High School reunion satuday night. It was really nice. I saw a childhood friend that I hadn't seen in 22 years and got to dance with him 3 times (2 slow and one semi-fast dance)... and I got to see a middles school friend that I hadn't seen since 8th grade. Nearly danced my booty off for 2 1/2 hours...lol Sunday I finished cleaning the house and threw a turkey in the oven for my mom's birthday...No wonder I'm pooped! lol Next weekend I will be in Murrieta for a women's retreat with my church...after that, I think I can relax...lol

More about the High School Reunion below...

Last saturday (Oct. 13, 2007), I had gone to a high school reunion. It wasn't for any specific class, it was an ALL class reunion, although most of the people there were from the Class of '81. I am from the Class of '84. Anyway, my ex was there. We were together when I was a freshman and he was a senior. After that I swore to never date someone from the same school...lol. He wouldn't even come over and say hi to me, but kept watching me as I floated around the room being the "social butterfly that I am...lol Then, a guy that I grew up with (he's 3 years older than I am and he's known me since I was 2 y/o and his sisters babysat me) showed up. I hadn't seen him in 22 years. OMG! So we hugged and kissed and talked and he went to talk to some friends. Well, during dessert he asked me to dance, so we danced to Van Morrison's Moondance. It was really nice. So we're dancing and talking, you know, just catching up with each other when we stopped in the middle of the dance floor and he kisses me on the forehead, looks into my eyes and tells me that I am a very beautiful woman. I almost burst into tears on the spot. I don't even get that from my husband. So we danced somemore. Actually, we dance three times and everytime he's spin me around on the floor, my ex would be watching me. And he was there with his fiancee of 12 years...lol That is an awesome wow moment! =) Sorry for writing a book, and I know it has nothing to do with weightloss, but I had to get it out...lol Pix are posted! =)
