Surgeon Testimonial

Samer Mattar M.D.
Dr. Matter is wonderful. soft spoken. reassuring. calm. I went to Clarian Bariatrics and everything was like clock work. Everything happened like I was taught. I dont think his staff could have had me any more educated or prepared than I was. I would recommend him to anyone. I had no complications. No nausea no vomiting which I believe is due to the medications he gives routinely in the hospital. I couldnt have been more pleased with my experience and with him as my surgeon. Considering Im an RN that is saying alot.

Here I am 5 months out and 65 lbs down total since I started this journey. I have heard people say that I chose the easy way but I have to take exception to that..In the last 2 months I have only lost 5 lbs. and I believe thats due to eating to many carbs. This surgery has given me wonderful restriction but doesnt change my choices at all...my mind set was I could eat anything because I cant eat much WRONG!!!! Unfortunately nothing makes me sick..LOL this would be great if it did then I would stay away from it but no I can eat anything I want...This week I recommitted myself to doing exactly what I;m suppose to Protein first then vege then carbs...I feel so much better when I do this also..I am getting back to logging my food which I got away from and when you do this you dont really know what your eating..I thought I was eating enough protein but found I was not. I cant emphasize enough how I think logging your food helps you to see what your eating..
I am also working out..my goal is 4x week..I am up to 3 miles walking when I do that in about 50 minutes..and I dont feel like I'm dying..It was becoming a chore just to walk into work without breathing hard..so this for me is awesome..
But on a lighter note..I feel wonderful physically..my joint pain is wonderful..I am wearing a size 18 misses ...the funny thing is I guess I never realized a 18 womens was different than a 18 misses but what a difference..so the fact that I am in misses sizes is wonderful to me..I can now shop in a different dept..but I find myself drifting back to the womens dept just out of habit..the big thing is I will hold something up and think theres no way that will fit and it does...your mind is much harder to reign in....my shoes are also getting too big..Just were I always wanted to lose weight my feet..LOLyou dont think about losing wt in those places but I'm seeing the bones of my feet...puffiness is gone..
I have 4 boys and I have always been heavier than them and my husband..so my really great goal is I am now light than my husband...yippee. I have never weighed less than my husband so for me theres nothing better and I'm lighter than 2 of my boys...they are also shocked by this but very happy for me..I can only hope and pray life just keeps getting better from here.
