David C. Voellinger, M.D. My first impression of Dr.V was he seems to be a very nice doctor. He told me everything I needed to know about the surgery as well as life after surgery. All I can say is Dr. V is the BEST! The staff is wonderful! I can call or email them at anytime and they would be there for me. They are the best staff ever.

Just updating! I have been doing ok with my weightloss and feeling good about myself. I now take more pics since I have lost some weight. I haven't gotten a fill in over 2 months and that was by choice but I'm pretty sure I will be getting one when I go back to the doctor in April. I think my band still may be a little tight because most days I still have a hard time eating but it's so crazy I have no problem eating junk food. Oh well, I will update again in April.
My Christmas was not the best due to my kids being sick on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day they go sick one after the other so I spent those days washing sheets and blankets ALL DAY!! This was the first time that I didn't get sick because usually I catch whatever they have so I'm glad I have been taking my vitamins. I went to the doctor on Friday Jan 5th and I was a little tight so the doctor took some out I went from 3.2 to 3.0 and it is a little better. I plan to do things a lot different in 2008.
I went to the doctor about 2 weeks ago and my doctor gave me some great news. I no longer have to take medication for High Blood Pressure and Diabetes!! I was so very happy when he told me no more meds. He told me he thinks it was all due to me being over weight. I got a fill a few weeks ago I went from 3.1 to 3.2 cc's and I think it may be a little too tight because I notice that I'm having a hard time eating most foods and I have thrown up several times. I guess I will see when I go back in Jan.
Today, me and the kids went shopping to buy their teachers gifts and to buy my mom and husband Christmas gifts.By the way I let my 18 yr old son drive me around (lol). We had so much fun shopping then we took a little break for lunch and after lunch we shopped some more. I'm almost done just a few more gifts then I will be done. That's all for now!
Yesterday, I went to the doctors office and I met with my Nutritionist. She really gave me a lot of helpful information. She gave me several helpful websites so if anybody is interested in getting them just let me know. My Nutritionist told me I needed to start back taking my Multivitamins twice a day, Calcium Plus Vitamin D twice a day and Prevacid once a day for the next few days. I also found out that I was not eating enough calories or protein and so now I have to try and keep track of all the calories and protein I eat just to make sure I'm getting enough. She told me if I can get all my calories and protein in I could lose more weight. She showed me my before picture and I could actually tell that I have lost weight my face is smaller and my waist is smaller. I'm happy with my results. I had another fill today a very small one I only went from 3.1 cc to 3.2 cc's. I lost 7 lbs in the last 3 weeks so I'm happy. Now, I need to start back exercising. I need to learn to go workout on my own instead of depending on others to go with me because everytime I start working out I do good for a few weeks but then if they miss going to the gym I end up missing too and never go back. I'm going to do better and hope to lose more weight before I see my doctor again. Well, that's all I have to say for now. Peace!!
Hello, my name is Kim and I'm 38 yrs young. I'm married to a wonderful man of God . I have 4 children 2 girls and 2 boys. I was always skinny when I was growing up. When I got older and started having kids that's when my weight started picking up. I had several miscarriages in between the 4 kids I have and I didn't take the time to exercise so that is how I gained a lot of weight. I started doing the research of WLS in 2000 and finally decided to have the Lapband surgery in 2006. I had to wait until Jan, 07 to start all my paperwork due to changing my insurance at the time BCBS would not pay for the Lapband. I switched to Aetna and had almost everything done at the end of Jan but this insurance require you to see the nutritionist, exercise therapist, and physiologist 3 times once each month before I could get approved so that was the long part for me. I did have the surgery on May 23,2007. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. So, now I'm happy and I know I will be where I want to be this time next year. Sept 20,2007
I'm so excited that my packet has finally been faxed to my insurance company. I started in Jan 12, 2007 and finished on April 5, 2007.
