I DID IT!!

Hey everyone! I have had my surgery and I am doing great! I have been wide awake all day. Thanks to my family and boyfriend for spending the entire day with me! Well, I am finaaly on the losers bench and feel great. Lets hope it continues :) Thanks fro all your kind words earlier!

Today is the Day

 Well, I am hours away from surgery. Its about 5:30 AM.  I have to be at the hospital at 9:30 AM. Little nervous but very at peace and quite calm. My stomach is rumbling big time!  I don't know if it is hunger, gas, or nerves. I can't believe its here!!  My bag is packed, everything is set to go. Almost feels like I am dreaming!  Well, I guess I will talk to you all later on, when I am on the losers bench!!!!  I will update as much and often as I can. Take care everyone! Good Luck to all the other people having surgery today :)

My Story

     Well here goes my story for you. I am a girl who just wants to know what life is like not overweight. I work full time and will be going back for my Masters in September. I come from a supportive family with both my mother and father and 3 sisters. I can't go without saying that I have a wonderful boyfriend who has stood by me through my ups and downs! I'd like to say that I am one busy girl and so excited for this journey!

     I have been overweight my entire life.  I am determined to not die overweight. I have tried every diet imaginable. I have lost 75 pounds and gained it right back plus some, I don't even remember how many times. I have been at this my entire life. I am lucky enough to have an insurance that covers weight loss surgery. Preparation for the surgery has seemed like a lifetime. Doctor visits, pre-op weight loss, psych consultations, diet and nutrition education classes. I have been lucky enough not to have any other health issues. Finally, on April 30, 2012 I will be having my surgery. If all goes well with insurance!!  I will finally be on the road to permanent weight loss!

I am now ready to start being a little more open about my surgery. I have not told many people, but thanks to this site I have been able to get my voice out. As well as the friends I have met along the way in the support groups. We are all on this journey together.
