Surgeon Testimonial

Douglas M. Krahn
Nothing but good things to say about Dr Krahn, his Assistant Brian and the entire staff.
From my very first seminar, to my consultation and now after my surgery, they have taken excellent care of me and given very good education both pre and postop.
I sincerely feel as though Dr Krahn and his staff truly care.. that is priceless !!
I did have a complication after surgery but even so, I was completely comfortable knowing that they were doing everything possible to resolve the problem as quickly as possible.

Just an Update
on October 19, 2008 6:34 pm
Last weekend I wasn't feeling real good.. Felt as if my blood pressure was up... Had some chest pains come and go... so I went to my primary doctor 1st thing monday morning... Sure enough my pressure was up (but not as high as it was over the weekend) They did an EKG and everything looked normal... she did put me back on a low dose BP med... bummer.. I was so excited to go off of them, but I guess my body is still going though an adjustment.. hopefully this will only be temporary.. Because of the chest pains she did refer me to a cardiologist for a stress test... I had my appt Wednesday and my blood pressure was much better and I hadn't felt the pain for 3 days... so the doctor didn't see the need to put me through the stress test.... She sais that it would be hard for me... (guess because of my size...) She did say if the pain came back, call her office right away or go to ER... so far, so good....

I almost had my first ... I was at work eating a piece of chicken when all of a sudden I felt like I was going to lose it all... I didn't think that I'd make it to the restroom... but I did, and once I got there the feeling went away.... whoohooo, close call.....I've been surprised through this whole process that I have yet to get sick... I was starting to think, I wasn't the norm !!   I realize Im a lucky one, but I now know it can happen even to me.......ahaha...........I think I was eating way to fast and wasn't chewing like I should...

Kinda of a Wow moment today.... The lowest weight I remember being for years was 259 which was about 5 yrs ago..... Today I got on the scale and it read 258 !! Whooooohooooooo!!!  Too cool !!!

I've missed you ALL..!!

Well I think that I'm finally back online... yippeee !!!

I'm very sorry for those of you out there that have followed my journey and been sooo supportive for the year leading up to my surgery, and then once my surgery actually happens..... I vanish........believe me,I really had wished I could get back sooner but once we decided to sign up again for the internet we had phone line problems.... we are still having some minor difficulties... but hopefully we'll get it all squared away real soon :)

I have really, really missed all of you and I am sooo Happy to be back :)

Let's see.....I am in week 9 and have lost about 37lbs.  I actually feel very good. I think that I have been very lucky in the fact that I have been able to tolerate everything that I have ate...(although not a huge variety) I am on strickly all protein. 3 meals a day. I consume 60-65 grams of protein, and about 64 oz of calorie free liquid per day...
My average day is a protein shake for breakfast, two slices of turkey and a slice of cheese for lunch and a 3 oz can of chicken breast w/ mayo for dinner.... and I cant forget my two sugar free popsickles for my PM snack... Thank goodness for them popsickles!!!  so, that's about 520-550 calories per day....
I had a little bit of a panic going on a few weeks ago.. There was about three weeks that the scale was going up and down about 3 pounds... It was really, really frustrating.. I just didn't understand why I wasn't losing... After a visit to my doctor's office and speaking to a few people that have been through this... I realized I just needed to stay off the scale and concentrate on what I was supposed to be eating It would start to fall off and sure enough it did :)
I plan on only getting on the scale on the first of every month and at Doctors appt's..
I will work on getting some new pics up on my page soon.. and I promise to keep my page more updated (well, if this new internet services doesn't let me down)

I am so sorry for those of you that sent me messages and I have yet to reply.. I will be going through them just as soon as I can...
Thank you all for you support ...
Now it's my turn to be there for some of you again ... :)

oxoxo
