Douglas M. Krahn Nothing but good things to say about Dr Krahn, his Assistant Brian and the entire staff.
From my very first seminar, to my consultation and now after my surgery, they have taken excellent care of me and given very good education both pre and postop.
I sincerely feel as though Dr Krahn and his staff truly care.. that is priceless !!
I did have a complication after surgery but even so, I was completely comfortable knowing that they were doing everything possible to resolve the problem as quickly as possible.

Well it's confirmed..I had my sleep study last night and I have sleep apnea. The tech couldn't give me any information, he said my PCP would have the results within five days....
This will hopefully help with my approval for surgery ...
I have an upper GI and gallbladder ultrasound scheduled for May 15th..
I sent my appeal for denial on my surgeon consult about a month ago. I called the appeal board this past tuesday to see if they had made a decision and I was told it was still pending.. well, I attended a seminar Tuesday evening with the surgeon that would be my surgeon if I were approved.. They handed out packets with questionaire's and wanted it all mailed back to them with my insurance information.. Well, Im a little inpatient so I faxed the 31 sht document on yesterday. This morning I received a phone from surgeons office wanting to schedule my consult... I explained to the girl who called that I was still waiting to hear back from appeal board before I could schedule.. she said " I have your approval" YAHOOOO!!! So we scheduled my 1st appt on may 13th... still being my negative self, and not believing i was really approved.. I called the appeal board once again and she confirmed I HAVE BEEN APPROVED ..... Yippeeeeee !!!
I know I still have a long road ahead of me, but I am sooo excited to finally have some good news....
I called the surgeons office and asked if I could go ahead and start my testing... she recommended that i call my primary and have a gallstone ultrasound and and upper GI... So of course I have already called my Primary and they are working on sending me...Hopefully that will help for a quicker surgery date.... maybe summer ?? SOOOOO EXCITING !!!!!!!
BIG GIANT HUgggggssss for all the support and encouragement here.. Love you all :)
After my first denial I realized the importance of dealing with some of my health issues. Things that I've put aside because I truly felt they wouldn't get better until I lost this weight first.... I've been completely focused on RNY......Now I realize I was wrong because this is documentation that I could have been using all along to help with my approval......
Now I may have another set back....
One problem that I live with day in and day out is the constant pain I'm in from my feet and ankles ... I knew that I had arthiritis in my right ankle from two previous surgeries and my thought was to make an appointment with the orthopedic doctor to get documentation for my records... My appointment was friday.... Turns out, I may need not only one, but two surgeries on my ankle.. I am being sent to another specialist for a second opinion.....
I am just beside myself..I want sooo badly to focus completely on loosing this weight but now I just may have to focus on my ankle.... I'm soo disappointed !! Do I continue my fight with the insurance on RYN and put off this surgery for my ankle as long as I can,,, ?? Guess I will just take it as it comes...
I will continue my diet program because only good can come from that anyhow... I have an appointment with the dietician on tuesday and I will also be having my sleep study sometime this month as well... I requested that also for documentation.. now I'm almost afraid to find out if I do have sleep apnea... it will just be something else to deal with.... :(
I did send my appeal letter off about 10 days ago... I read that they reply within 30 days of receiving appeal... so I suppose I will just try to have a positive attitude and like I said, deal with it as it happens... I've always been a believer that things happen for a reason...
Anyhow... just wanted to update :)
Hope all is well for you and your family
