Sleep Study Part II - CPAP - Can I get approved?
on July 2, 2007 7:36 pm

I had my CPAP sleep study on June 22nd.  I hated it.  Apparently the bridge of my nose is too narrow for the triangular nose style mask.  The mask would not adhere to my face and the air pressure kept blowing up into the corner of my eyes.  We tried that for about a half hour with me fiddling with it, nothing worked, so we tried the nose pillow thingy.  (Like my technical lingo?)  Well that physically put pressure on my nasal passages and I kept gasping for air, reverting to breathing through my mouth, so that didn't work either.  So she brought the full mask in that went over my nose and mouth.  That adhered properly, so I finally fell asleep.  They said that I was a pressure 6 and my apneas went away with it.  And my oxygeb levels only dipped slightly, lowest level was 92%.  So I went to the dr today for the written prescription and now have to have the respiratory therapist come in my home.
That's my status...
One other BIG thing is my insurance just changed effective July 1st, so now the process for approving my surgery can get started.  Keep me in your prayers!  Thanks!
