Surgeon Testimonial

Thomas Sonnanstine M.D.
Dr. Sonnanstine seemed very self-assured that he is one of the best bariatric surgons. This is a very comforting feeling. He's very straightforward, and doesn't lead you to believe that wls will CURE your obesity. This is a lifestyle change and will require a huge commitment on your part. I was mildly discouraged when I first left the office, that this proccess isn't going to be as easy as I hoped, but I would rather discover that BEFORE surgery than after I wake up afterwards.rnrnThe staff is very friendly and helpful. I feel not like a \"consumer\" or like I'm just another patient coming through a revolving door. I feel respected and well cared for, and I would never hesitate to call the office with any questions I have.rnrnI actually feel like the staff REMEMBERS me when I go in, and Taryn is a wonderful part of the staff there.rnrnI would highly recommend Dr Tom to anyone!

50 lbs down
on April 27, 2008 7:40 pm
That sounds just amazing to me... I am so happy. To tell people I've lost 50 lbs, is amazing. It sounds so much better than 43 or 47. it's FIFTY!!!

I still have some issues with food. I'm sure I always will.

I have struggles, just new ones.

i've started seeing a counsler, to help me work through some problems I'm having (not with my WLS, just life in general)

I still have my days where I feel just as "fat" as I used to be 50 lbs ago. I'm in a size 22, down from a 28!! I had a NSV on Saturday. I bought a Misses size XL top!!! WOW! THAT was a great feeling. I tried on some size 20's and they ZIPPED, but were still too tight. That is a great feeling, just GREAT. I even got some of my clothes out from my "skinny" summer (summer of 2005) and I can wear them!! I'm only 18 lbs away from the LOWEST weight that I've been as an adult! I actually don't even remember being any smaller than that, THAT'S how long it's been. WOW.

I can't WAIT till I get to that point. That will be a wonderful feeling.

99.4 lbs to goooooooooooooo!
on April 7, 2008 5:21 am
WOW!!! I'm really really really super excited!

I am officially below the 100 lbs to lose mark! That is amazing to me. I've been waiting soooo long for this. I was at a pleatau for soooo long, and I've finally broken through and I've lost 7 lbs in the past week an a half! AMAZING. I think I've officially hit my sweet spot! It's a truly wonderful feeling to be at the number I'm at right now and knowing it's gonna keep going down. The last time I weighted this amount was when I was 6 months pregnant!!! HAHA. I have 1.4 lbs to go until I'm at the 50 lbs lost mark! WOW!!! I thought I'd never get here!

I only have about 19 lbs to go before I reach my pre-pregnancy weight, which is the lowest I've been at in my adult life, and I'll keep going down from there, I'm sure!!!

Looking back over this whole struggle, I am reminded of my doubts and my days where I thought I'd made a mistake doing this, and I know that was an important step along the way, but I'm sooo past that now!  I lost so much weight right in the begining, and then I went sooo long without losing at all, or even gaining, but now that is all behind me. Thanks to my band and my 3.2 cc's, I'm on the right track, and I"M STAYING THERE!

I think I'm going to celebrate by going to the gym! Perfect!
