Surgeon Testimonial

Alvaro Valencia, MD
My first impression of Dr. Valencia was that he was a very down to earth and geniune person that had a passion for his job as well as very knowledgable. This feeling only grew the longer I talked with him and with the care and attention he showed me after surgery. His staff along with Dr. Silva were 2nd to none. Although it is a tough decision to travel outside of the country for a surgery as serious as this, anyone considering going there should know that I rank him 1st class and it would be difficult to find a more caring and professional doctor anywhere. I found Dr. Valencia and Dr. Silva to be very surgically competent, and there bed side manners were excellent.

5 weeks out
on December 4, 2008 4:44 pm
Hello all, today makes 5 weeks out and I am doing pretty good. I need to get disciplined and make sure I am getting my liquids and vitamins in. Other than that, the weight lose is doing good and my energy level is the highest it as been in a long time. Does anyone out there bother counting calories? I am not eating that much but I am not sure if I am consuming enough calories?

on November 13, 2008 5:26 pm
Today makes two weeks out and I am feeling really good. I almost feel like nothing even happened. So far I have lost 40 Ibs, and I cant see it but i can definetly feel it. Started going to the gym and walking 2-3 miles three times a week

3 days post op
on November 2, 2008 3:42 am
That is a wow moment right out of the gate for me to even say that I am post op. It seems like it has been a long time coming. I am very greatful for the support of my many friends here on this site. I also give God all of the glory and the praise for my surgery being successful.
Things are going well I am getting use to the whole drinking thing and doing my breathing exerises. I feel really good but I tend to get winded quickly. I have been pushing myself to walk and try and stay moving.
I am excited to be on the road to recovery because as many of you will agree obesity is an addiction or condition of some sort. So I am thankful to be equiped with the tools to better manage it.
Take care and be blessed.

3 weeks to go
on October 9, 2008 5:46 pm
Well, it is getting closer and closer. my mind is racing with thoughts which I am sure is normal. I am very anxious but yet nervous all at the same time. I am trusting God to do for me what he has done so many times before. Which is show up and restore.
Be blessed.
