2 weeks out
on July 16, 2010 7:56 pm
Well I have been out almost 2 weeks now.  I had one set back.  I pulled some back muscles trying to do too much.  I went to the ER and they tested me for all of the post operative problems and figured it was pulled back muscles.  As far as surgery it went GREAT.  I was out of my bed 15 minutes after they brought me into my room, and every 2 hours after that.  I got to go home on Thursday.  (surgery was tuesday).  I was sore for a couple of days, and then the back issue, but now I am doing great.  My 2 week follow up with Dr. Hill is on July 21st.  I am hoping to go back to work as I miss my consumers very badly.  I do not know how much weight I have lost as I have not purchased a pair of scales yet.  I may have to as curiosity is getting the best of me.  As I know more you will know more for now I will upload a pic taken at my appointment right before surgery :) I know that I was getting very impatient and I thank all of you who listened to me whine, but this was probably the best decision I have made with my life........
7/21/10...........
I met with Dr. Hill today.  He Calls me a Rock Star! I lost 18 1/2 pounds!!! I have clearance to return to work on Monday, and I can start exercising.  I have also posted today's picture :) Thanks for reading I feel GREAT!

A date!!!!
on June 7, 2010 6:52 pm
Well I may have been a little bitchy waiting for a date, but I honestly believe it is because I went through so much with my friend I wanted to go through surgery also.  But low and behold I got a call last week with a date!  It is a month away, but still it is a date.  I will be going for my pre-op appointment on June 30th, and I will be having surgery on July 6th.  So My new Journey will start 29 days from today!!!  Thank you for listening to me rant!  I am sure everyone here was tired of hearing it as well as the Saranac Staff.  Which must be great because they deal with the people they do :)

Update
on May 22, 2010 3:51 pm
I picked up my mail today and in it was a letter from my insurence company.  It was an approval letter start date June 1 end date June 4.  Soooo I guess I sit and wait now for Saranac to call me with a date. Getting a little nervous.  My friend which I started all of this with Had her surgery the 11th, and she is doing great!  Guess my journey will start soon.
5/25 I called Saranac today to ask them what the dates on my approval letter were "preliminary" dates, and once I get my "real" dates they will fix it. Because the RN has to review my stuff before sending it to surgery!

DISCOURAGED!
on May 4, 2010 5:42 pm
Well Saranac still has not sent the letter to my insurence company! It has been almost a month.  I never once knew that it took one month to send a letter!!! When I called my insurence company they can Call it in and Fax needed info!!!  So I sit here and wonder.  The ONLY explanation that the office will give me is because I don't have Medicaid!!!  I cry daily.  The person I did every step with is having surgery on the 11th! I am very happy for her.  So I am just the forgotten one!

Grrrrrrr!
on April 19, 2010 7:47 pm
Well my insurence company called today to ask me about "double billing" because I asked for money twice for the same appointment (which was just an error in paperwork).  I got a little excited and asked if all of my pre-authorization stuff ready for my surgery.  yeah..........they do not have anything!!!!!  I was devistated! I cried so much.  I was looking forward to everything, and being told I was cleared was the happiest day in a long time.  Now I am just at a standtill I have been going every month for appointments since October (September was my info meeting).  Guess I am just here in limbo waiting :(
