Hi Kerry! Well I
think you're
probably out of
surgery by now, but
I wanted you to know
I'm thinking about
you! And your
surgery buddy, too.
:) I hope we hear
from you soon!!
I'll be praying that
all goes well for
you and for your
friend. It's a
challenge at times,
but it will be worth
it! Things are
about to change.
It's the end of the
world as you know
it, but the begining
of something better!
Hi All,
After investigating every surgery, every possibility, every detail, I decided WLS was going to happen for me. I chose the VSG, and my surgeon agreed. I learned so much from the VSG Board. I love this Board! Whoever thought obesity could be such a bonding experience.
I had my VSG on 7/30/2007. It was 70 minutes. No problems, no pain, no nausea! I was pyched by the afternoon! One night in the hospital. I can't say enough good things about my surgeon and hospital! The first week was a breeze. Tylenol here and there. Soup, yogurt, tea, water. I was walking, doing housework, fixing food for the kids, etc. No hunger!! Hooray!!
I'm 43, married, and have two girls 9 and 7 years old. I am active and happy. My doctor says that I'm one of the healthiest morbidly obese people he has ever met! ( I think that's a good thing!? )
I have been on a diet since first grade. In second grade I weighed more than the teacher! I've been on as many diets as all of you and Oprah. I am good at losing weight. Not at all good at keeping it off. Right now, I need to do both! ( BMI pushing 40 )
Last year, I trained for and completed the Disneyland half-marathon. Funny thing happened after walking 30 to 40 miles a week for a year.... all tolled, I gained two pounds!!!! That's when I really figured something was wrong, and I needed to start searching out alternatives.
Onward!
