At a stand still.................
Ok, sometimes I feel like  a yo-yo up today down tommorow.  I dont regret having surgery I am just a little baffled.  I can exercise and work my tool to the t and my weight is just creeping off.  I am paranoid, because I took a big step with making a decision to have wls.  I have my highs and lows.  I get compliments but it seems like it isn't enough for me.  I guess this is where the mental and emotional drama comes in.  Anyway I am going back to the gym next week I plan to lose some more inches and weight  before I see my surgeon next month.  Gotta keep at it in order to achieve my goal.  P.U.S.H . I always say pray until something happens and in this case both rules apply push until something happens!

6 months post op
on August 13, 2008 6:28 pm
Hi to all,

Well first I would like to thank God for my weight loss thus far, I would not say that I lost what I wanted to lose in these six months but I loss.  I feel 100% better and I am off all those diabetes pills.  That was my only comorbite and my blood sugar is FANTASTIC.  For the most part 65 pounds are gone 4ever!  I can't wait to lose another 65.  I am 5'11 and I really like being tall.  My husband and daughter are
so happy for me.  I am soooooooooooo happy for myself.  I SHALL defeat obesity

From a size 34 to a 24~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
on July 26, 2008 2:00 pm

A WoW moment (my blessing) My daughter and I went to see STEP BROTHERS and it was Hilarious.  Afterwards I decided to go in Ashley Stewart just to browse the new fashions because since surgery I have been shopping at retail shops or thrift store.  Anway, I looked at this beautiful skirt and wrap around dress in a size 24, so I decided to try the skirt on.  Well, to my surprise it fit with much room I'm not to far from my 1st goal size 18. I am not for sure what size I want to be in I will figure it out on my journey, I am most definately considering the T.T. for a much later date.  I also see that water aerobics are helping pull those inches off.  The scales says one thing but my body is saying another.  I want to shape my body as I lose.  So next week it is back to the grind (da gym)

peace and blesssings,

DIFFERENT STOKES 4 DIFFERENT FOLKS..................
on July 20, 2008 9:36 am

NOT QUITE 6 MONTHS  post op but it appears that with this journey what works for you might not work for me.  INDIVIDUALITY is something else God made us all the same but different catch that.  So we just have to find out what works for us.   Basically, I am having 2 scoops (66gr) of protein (per shake) twice a day.  That is a total of 132 grams a day. Maybe I only absorb 100 OR LESS so I include protein in my diet throughout the day.  I would like for everything I eat to have protein in it but i need veggies and fiber not to mention some fruit.  I plan to get some unflavored protein to add to my chilli, food, or crystal light.  I like the most  rny patients need protein to lose.  For me it is plain and simple not enough protein no weight loss. SIMPLE AS THAT!

THE SCALE IS MOVING............
on July 19, 2008 6:50 am
PROTEIN, PROTEIN, PROTEIN, PROTEIN.......PLAIN AND SIMPLE AS THAT PROTEIN.   I understand that because I workout I need even more protein.  For my frame and height I need at least 125 grams a day or more.  I have been testing my protein intake by the scale and the more protein I intake, the more weight I lose.   I have been trying different protein variations for 2 months and to nip this thing in the bud I have to drink the shakes twice a day and eat PLENTY of protein.
anyway  7 more pounds off!!!!

Best wishes to all of you,
KiKi2007

My Story

Hi to all.  I am axiously waiting for my approval. I finally made a decision to have the WLS.  Hopefully sometime this fall or early winter.   I am 5'll & 414 pounds.  Let's get this party started.  I have had my stress test , now I have to see a Psychiatric  Dr., have a sleep apnea test and lose 10 pounds. My insurance is Great Lakes Health Plan (GLHP-HMO)   There is a Center of Excellence in my area and my surgeon is top notch, that is a blessing not to mention when I am approved I will be covered 100 percent.  No Co-Pays  Thank God.  It is a miracle most  surgeons in my area only accept Blue Cross.

My family and I are so excited because everything is flowing so smooth.

I am almost @ the door with this thing.  Next week I will have done all I need to do to prepare for surgery.  I lost 6 pounds and I have 4 to go.  4 pounds and a date. Off and running I will be.
