Nose tube!

I have begun to have panic attacks at night after reading the materials necessary prior to surgery.  The only issue I am having a hard time with is the nose tube.  I am told that there is a good possibility that I will wake up with the tube still in my nose down into my stomach.  I am ok with having it but I am an asthmatic and panic everytime my nose is restricted.  My asthma is totally under control but panic whenever anything comes close to my nasal area.  Has anyone had to have this tube after surgery??  If so...Is it really that bad????
