over 7 months since my surgury
on August 1, 2008 10:31 pm
Wow It is so amazing how fast time flies.  So much has happened in the last 7 months.  I have lost over 80 pounds and I feel great.  I only have about 40 more pounds to lose.  I feel so much better, and I am doing things now that I have not done in years.  I went to my regular dr about 1 month ago and all the health problems that I had before my surgury are gone.  The only meds I take is vitamins and calcium.  That is pritty amazing to me.  I also turned 21 I got to go hiking around my bday which is the last thing that I expected to do and to enjoy it.  Life is great and I am so happy that I decided to do WLS.

almost 5 months out
on May 15, 2008 8:46 am
Wow has time flown.  I will have had my WLS for 5 months this comming saturday the 17th of May.  I can't believe how fast time has gone by and how far I have come. I have now lost around 75 pounds and I cannot believe that I have really lost that much weight in 5 months.  I like looking at pictures because I can actually tell that  I have lost weight.  I need to retrain my mind to that I will be able to see it in the mirror as well.  I never regret the decision that I made to have suegury.  But it is still a struggle and probably always will be.  i just wish my years of weight watcher and healthy diets like that would actually have worked it would have been so much easier.  I am also done with my first semester of nursing and I passed with flying colors all A's and B's.  Which is pritty cool since I am a C student.  As I am comming up on my 6 month anniversary I have a lot of thinking to do and I will update that later.  It amazes me what I have accomplished and how much better I feel 75 pounds down.  I am now in a size 16 and I am so excited about it. I was figuring that a size 16 is what I would be when I hit y goal weight but I still have about 55 pounds to lose which is pritty cool.  I have gone from a size 24 to a size 16-18 depending on the clothes and I am so happy that I made the decision i did even though it was the hardest one I have ever made.

10 weeks out
on March 1, 2008 4:05 pm
Hey all I am doing great and I am about 10 weeks out fron my RNY.  I feel great and it is good th see the weight come off.  My weight loss has decreased a lot but I am still losing 2-5 pounds a week which I guess is good.  At least i am still losing.  I am getting adjusted to my new lifestyle.  The only problem that I run in to is that I live alone and trying to cook for just me when I eat very little is super hard.  But I have started making tv dinners and putting them in the freezer so that I dont waste as much food as I did before.  I feel great, and I have less the 90 pounds to lose.  I have had to get almost a entire new wardrobe, but most are hamidowns for family which is good.  I am in the nursing program and that is super stressful, which is making it even harder to eat well, and exercise and to actually take the time eat slow.  But I am trying to get better.  I cant believe I am already 10 weeks out that is so crazy.

I had my first appoitment yesterday and everything went well.  Everything is going just the way it is suppose to.  I just have to keep working hard, and exercising, and everything should go well the rest of the journey.  I have lost 30 pounds and it feels great to be on the losing bench.

My Story

I am 20 years old.  I have been on various diets and exercise programs since I was 13 years old, because I always hated the way I looked.  I have had 4 knee surguries to correct a long term problem, surguries went great, but was told I had to lose weight, and my dr. recomended RNY Gastric bypass.  Now I am on the home stretch to my surgury.  The great day is the 17th of december 2007, and I am so excited.  I am just ready to finally see the weight come off, after all these years of different programs.
