Hey Laurie!...Thanks for your kind wishes!! Nooo i didnt gain any weight back from my preop diet...i didnt mean to make it sound that way!...haha. I lost like 9 lbs in 2 weeks....not bad. Im home from surgery and so far everythings okay!

You are probably out of surgery by now and on your way home! I hope everything went wonderful and mom is able to take care of you at home! Sorry you had to gain back the weight you lost in the week before ;-) Trust me a week from now it will be gone again, but its the pits to see it back! (At least that's what's happened to me, but its almost gone again!) Laurie

Monday is your day! Just remember you are on the journey of a lifetime. Try to enjoy every minute. It may sound weird now, but know that you are cared for and prayed for here, and all too soon this will be but a memory and you will be an inspiration to someone else. First Fill!!!

Soooo today i had my first fill... i sort of feel official now!!!...LOL...actually i wont feel official till i feel some sort of restriction and im not starving all the time!... Anyways i was totally nervous and told him i heard horror stories about bad fills...and he laughed and said well not with me- and it was true... he was able to feel my port just fine and put in 1.5 cc in my 10cc band... he said thats on the aggressive side for a first fill...but i dunno ive heard of people getting more then that on their first fill. Anyways- it was just like a little pinch type feeling- and it was pretty quick...he played around a little inflating and deflating the band to make sure he everythings okay. But i was soo happy that it was painless!! The medical assistant walked and expecting to have to help out and we were already done it was great!...Soo my next fill is in a little over a month!! I hope i'll be good until then!!! I guess if not i just call the office though right??

Other then that life is OKAY- since being back at work i feel that is all i do!! My unit is VERY acute right now... we have a lot of dangerous kids its pretty unsafe... but were (as in staff) are trying to get on top of any negative issues and not let anything get out of hand so these boys dont think they can get away with whatever...it just sucks because some staff are way too easy on them and it screws it up for the rest of us... but whatever theres always going to be that issue. Sooo yeah im just working a lot and feel i have no life its lovely!!...LOL... this job is sort of like that though esp. with my hours... at least i enjoy it and have great coworkers so we can have some fun at work. Sooo thats about it for now... hope everyone is doing good!!

Sooo yeah im back to work as ive mentioned in the previous blog... wellll yesterday i was in the kitchen getting my patients dinner together and a coworker walks in... sooo were the only 2 in the kitchen and he's like Kim I have a question for you...now its personal sooo let me know if your willing to answer it...im like ok...and he goes nooo say yes or no... so im like just ask whatever it is you want to ask (meanwhile i knew the dreaded question was coming).... he askes..sooo were you out of work because you got a certain procedure done... im like yess... he goes which one RNY or Lap Band...im like WHOA lol- it couldve been any procedure...LOL... he'sl ike welll ive just noticed that you have lost a lot more weight then a normal person would in a month- soreally with that compliment how could i be mad that he guessed ya know??? But anyways to make a long story short- he was just asking questions because he is going thru the whole process too and is not sure which procedure to go with of course im pro- lapband... esp for someone younger and healthier- i dont see the reason for rerouting your insides if you dont need to. He totally agrees and im pretty sure he's going to go with lap band- he mentioned that he had a friend who had it done a year ago and lost over 100 lbs! I knew people were talking about me at work- not in a bad way but theres been things flying around work and im not stupid ya know?? Sooo i guess i just need to not be so shy ab this whole procedure and embrace that people are sooo encouraging and supportive. Of course im loving the compliments im getting too! LOL

1st day back to work...after being out for a month!!

OMG i was sooooooo nervoussss yet excited....but once i pulled into the parking lot i was like freaking out nervous in my car! I DUNNO why i guess i didnt really want to deal with too my questions- and deal with everyone saying OMG YOUR BACK...well the second i walked onto my unit of course i got the warmest welcome back from my coworkers!! it was sooo great- everyone was like you look great!!! (noone knew i had surgery- or at least i hope not- i think this one big mouth nurse knows though bcuz a friend may have slipped)... anyways then a ton of people were like you look awesome- did you cut your hair or something! hahaha! UMM nope hasnt changed since you guys saw me a month ago LOL!

Omggg then one of the Drs was sitting with one of my patients and was like GUESS WHOSE BACKKK YOUR FAVORITE STAFFF... and he got SOOO excited- this kid melts my heart... for many reasons even though a lot of people hate him because he is sooo assaultive and bad.... him and i just really get a long and laugh whenever im with him!... Sooo anyways he was cheesing from ear to ear it was SO cute- and all shift he just kept talking about how i was back LOL... i love it!!! Of course all my other patients were super siked too it was awesome!!!! Its cute to see teenage boys care so much!... My boss was thrilledddd i was back.... he was like dont leave us like that again! LOL...and he kept making sure i was back for good hahah it was so sweet!...Anyways! so everything went well... and im just happy to be back on track and living my life normally again... nowww only if i could look better....LOL but that will come soon enough!! Sorry for rambling... just wanted to share my excitement! And of course im even more excited because tm Nick and I are going to the casino (yep i already have a day off haha)...so that should be fun hopefully i dont lose too much!! LOL!

update...almost a month out!!

Sooo I wasnt going to update because I was kind of ashamed of myself for letting things go over the Holidays- I cant blame it all on bandster hell ((but yes that business suckssssss))... i shouldve had more self control- but didnt... so i gained some of my weight back that i lost!!... I was really upset and called my Dr and what not- they were nice about it and said any weight lost now is a bonus until you start getting fills... sooo i felt better and just got back on track again...and now im back to the weight i was pre-thanksgiving which is awesome!...Now i can start losing again!!... I have my first fill Dec 12th... i cant wait- although im a little nervous- i kinda hate needles!!... as long as its not like drawing blood i'll be find! i can handle shots and what not... just not giving blood! LOL... Other then that- im finally cleared to go back to work Dec 3rd... i am SOOOOOOoo excited!!!!!!!!!!!

I miss my patients soooo much!!!! ((i work in a childrens psych. hosp im not sure if i mentioned that in previous posts!)) So thats about it!

And of course...Thanks Nick for ALWAYS being there for me!!! we met here on the OH website a few weeks ago...and finally met in person today- he's def an awesome guy and can always make me smile!... he will be getting banded in the near future so its cool to have someone close that is going through what your going through!

Anyways im going to try and be better about updating my profile to help any newbies out there- but it will def be hard now that i'll be going back to work i will be SOOOO busy!!! But feel free to message me anytime!!!

10 days post op!!!!

Well...yesterday I went for my post op appt with the Dr... although i was running late so i ended up seeing the APRN who i always see anyways. I like her a lot!!...Sooo everything looks awesome... and is healing perfectly!... The only incision bothering me now is the port one...but its not too bad. Ive lost 20 pounds so far including the week before preop diet. It stinks because i cant even tell where that weight has gone

But she said that theres still bloating and what not so it may take awhile until i notice... thats fine with me!As long as the scale keeps moving downward!!

Sooo anyways recovery wasnt so bad... i was able to go home same day as my surgery! That was awesome so my family could take care of me... my mom is a RN and my sis is a PA so it was awesome to get to be home instead of a hosp!...

Days 1&2 was pretty bad... i was in soo much pain from the incisions... the gas wasnt too bad because i walked around a ton!! I also slept alot- i had NO problems sleeping which was awesome!!!...Then the rest of the week honestly wasnt bad at all.. i had to be careful but i was able to go out and run errands...and i started driving at day 4!!...I def. feel fortunate i didnt have any major issues...i guess its a plus i dont have any other medical issues to deal with on top of having the surgery i think that def helped out some!!...

The one downfall i have to say that i was really concerned about is getting in my protein... and vitamins. I still havent found a good vitamin i like....and it was really hard for me to get in all the protein on the liquids...but now that im on pureed foods it should be way easier to get in a good amount of protein. The APRN said dont worry too much now concentrate on healing and getting in liquids!! So at least i feel better about that. Ohh and i can start going to the gym which is awesome!!!! I love working out and cant wait to get back in awesome shape like i used to be!!... of course i cant overdo it...but at least i can get started! I'll start Saturday since today and tomorrow im going to be busy ((im moving out of my apt soo ive gotta pack and get going on moving

not fun!!)) Anyways... if anyone has any questions who hasnt had surgery yet...feel free to ask!! And i have to say thanks to all the vets who have been SOOO helpful...i dont know what i'd do without your support and help with everything!!
