I am a 40 year old widowed mother of 3 teenagers.  I've struggled with my weight for most of my life since I was about 12.  The only time I really was a "normal" size was when I was in college, and was  practicing anorexic and bulimic tendencies.  NOT HEALTHY, just thinner.  I first approached my family doctor about having WLS about 8 years ago, he told me that because I lived in such a small community, there wasn't enough resources for any followup, so he refused to even consider talking about it.  Last year a new doctor came to town, and he was all for WLS for anyone that qualified.  I was the 4th person in town set up for surgery.

After a year of miscommunication between the doctor who I was initially set up with (Dr. Lenz) and the hospital, I finally got my surgery date of February 1st, 2008.

I've been having alot of depression, due mainly to the fact that I can't seem to eat anything without throwing it right back up.

I've lost 18 pounds since surgery, 34 total.  The weight hasn't changed much in the last few days, even though I'm only taking in water and low calorie flavored water.  I attemted some plain yogurt and that didn't sit well either.

I feel hungry and keep thinking what a mistake I've made.  At least before surgery when I felt bad I could find something to bring up my spirits, even if it was food.

Everyone keeps saying how much I've lost, since I am losing inches, but I hate telling anyone how much I've lost, since the weight seems to have stopped for now.

Oh well, hopefully tomorrow will be better.
