Well it's been 4 1/2 months since my surgery and I feel so much better. The last time I checked my weight was about a month ago but i'm down almost 60lbs. I have been doing really well lately, I got sick and ended up in the hospital for a week, not related to the surgery. But anyway I started slackin on my protein intake and wouldn't you know it, my freaking hair started fallin out!! I'm back on track now, BUT boy was that scary!!! It's still hard to get at least 64 grams down in a day, but i'm gettin closer to my goal as I recover from my hospital stay.
Other than that I feel much more confident, and am VERY happy with my decision to have this surgery!!!
Well Tomorrow is my surgury. I'm very excited. it only took about 3 months to get all of my clearances and insurance approvals. I can't wait to start a new healthier life!!!!! I had my first appt with Dr. Irgua in January and started at 292lbs, eeeeeekkk!!!!!! I'm currently down to 283.
It's soo hard to try to go to sleep. I feel like a kid the night before going to DisneyLand or something. Well i'll post more later.
11/06/07-I have finally made a decision to change my lifestyle. I have found a surgeon, I meet w/ my PCP in 2 days to start this whole process. Not sure what I am going to have to go thru but I'm willing to wait it out!!! I can't wait to start livin' life like a normal person instead of watching everyone else live!!! Anyone w/ any advice for someone just starting this journey PLEASE let me know!!!!
I already know my insurance Coventry of Delaware will not cover Lap Band it will only cover Gastric Bypass if deemed medically neccesary by my PCP.
I am 30years old and have been battling with my weight my whole life. I am currently about 290-295lbs and this is the largest I've ever been. Since my son was born in 1999 I have pretty much maintained between 225-250. Before he was born I was around 200 for years. I found the man of my dreams a little over a year ago, and like so many of my friends, I got comfortable and just started packing on the pounds. It's funny though, as much as my weight bothers me, it doesn't seem to bother him at all. He says "I'll be with you through Thick and Thin" pun intended!!!
I hate being this unhealthy. My body hurts all the time even from doing something as simple as cleaning the house. I feel like I am a bad example for my son, who seems to be getting lazy lately. I want to have the energy to go bike riding with him or run on the beach with him or just be thin enough to get on an amusement park ride with him. Boy that's another story, that was sooooooo embarrising. We took him to the Ocean City Boardwalk this past summer and Tyler asked me to get on a ride with him, so I did.
They could not close the harness over me so I had to get off the ride. I was mortified.
I have decided to have WLS because I need to change my lifestyle and most of all my health.
