Mark A. Shina M.D. I had met Dr. Shina over two years ago, when I was pursuing the lapband. Now that I am pursuing the lap gastric bypass, I chose him again to be my perspective surgeon. He was just as thorough and kind this time around as the last time. He really knows the subject of bariatric surgery well and can explain it in a way that anyone could understand. He explains especially thoroughly about pulminary embolisms. His office staff was wonderful and took their time with all my paperwork. He was so caring in making sure that my husband and I had all our questions answered and told us to just call his office any time if we thought of anymore questions for him.
I just spoke with
Kathy, she sounds
like a super sweet
lady. She said she
was feeling great,
she was kind of
hoarse from the tube
being down her
throat durning
surgery, but other
than that was
feeling good. Thank
u all for your kind
thoughts and
prayers.

Best Easter! Apr 11, 2007. I celebrated one of my best Easter's ever!! I remember back in August 06 when I officially decided to go ahead with the Gastric Bypass surgery (after pursuing the lap band for so many years!), I kept wondering what size I would be by THIS Easter and I am so proud to say that I am almost 80 lbs lighter than last Easter! I feel so much better and confident. I am only about 25 lbs away from the size of all my smaller older sisters now. I know by late summer we will all be the same size! My Easter dress was a size 14! It is almost unimagineable that I am this size again. It was probably at least 25 years ago since I was this size! God is Great!!
