Mark A. Shina M.D. I had met Dr. Shina over two years ago, when I was pursuing the lapband. Now that I am pursuing the lap gastric bypass, I chose him again to be my perspective surgeon. He was just as thorough and kind this time around as the last time. He really knows the subject of bariatric surgery well and can explain it in a way that anyone could understand. He explains especially thoroughly about pulminary embolisms. His office staff was wonderful and took their time with all my paperwork. He was so caring in making sure that my husband and I had all our questions answered and told us to just call his office any time if we thought of anymore questions for him.
I just spoke with
Kathy, she sounds
like a super sweet
lady. She said she
was feeling great,
she was kind of
hoarse from the tube
being down her
throat durning
surgery, but other
than that was
feeling good. Thank
u all for your kind
thoughts and
prayers.

My Gall Bladder is out!! Labor Day, Sep 3, 2007..... I had my gall bladder removed last Friday, 31 Aug 07 laproscopically by the same surgeon, Dr. Shina, that performed my gastric bypass last fall (10 months ago). It has all gone well so far. I am just a little sore and the little incisions look great. I feel much better now (without feeling sick to my stomach all the time). I think it has kicked started my losing again. I have already lost 15 lbs. So far since my surgery last fall I have lost about 90 lbs. I really didn't lose much this summer (my father passed away May 31st) I think my emotions have been way out of whack all summer and the losing was not happening. But I am feeling much better about it all now.
