Surgeon Testimonial

Daryl A. Stewart, M.D.
I had the DS with Dr. Stewart on March 5th, 2008. My first impression of him was that he was very serious about wls and about getting all of the facts about wls to his patients.

I feel that as I have gotten to know him, he not only is a wonderful surgeon but is funny and has a great personality as well.

Most of his office staff is wonderful, and I feel like part of a family every time I have gone there.

What I liked best about him? Can I say his eyes?

He has a great aftercare program and really seems to care about his patients after surgery.

I would recommend Dr. Stewart to anyone, and have to several friends and family members.

I think surgical competence is more important, and although I have heard from others that Dr. S lacks in bedside manner, he has shown me a side of him that I really could get to know and love.

Best wishes, Kristi, for a textbook surgery and a speedy recovery. If the O.R. staff ask about feathers in the operating room just smile knowing it was because your switch sistahs and brothas were swinging chickens for you. Sandy

ONEDERLAND!!!
on September 24, 2008 7:22 am
Well, I finally made it!  I hit 199 today.  I was really happy and have been waiting for what seems like FOREVER.  I am 6 1/2 months out and have lost 89 pounds.  I feel great, alot more energy, no bathroom issues, food is going great... I couldn't be happier - ok well maybe If I was already at goal :)

This month I have gotten into a size 16 pants, XL shirts and even bought a pair of jeans from the Jr.'s department that actually fit.  I have had more and more people notice my loss which is nice and even overheard a "mom" say to another "mom" - I want to have that surgery, which I took as a compliment meaning - hey she looks great! lol

I have done alot of adjusting my vitamins based on my labs, adding in D, A, Iron, copper, vit C and a B Complex and I feel like I have alot more energy lately.  I don't know if it is from the vits or just from knowing I am taking them.  I also switched from calcium petites to regular size on Lori's suggestion and for whatever reason they go down easier (I was having a horrible time with the petites feeling stuck). Plus the regular ones I can get generic which saves money!!

I also added in protein shakes again.  I never liked them but then tried the champion whey stack with lactaid milk and have really been able to get them in, usually 2 per day.  I don't know if I feel any better, but I feel like I have more freedom and I am not counting every single gram of protein making sure that I get in at least 100.  Now I know that 50 of it will go in with shakes, and I can easily get 50+ alot more with food.  Before I found myself counting even the protein in my condiments just to make sure I had enough - so that feels alot better for me.

Yesterday I had to carry my daughters cello from the car to the portables for her after school and when I got there she said - oh mom you could have rolled it, it has wheels - and I thought for a minute... wow I barely noticed the walk or carrying this huge thing... I know the walk alone would have hurt me so badly before surgery.

Well that's about it, hubby should be home in 4-6 months for a visit and I am so excited to be closer to goal when he gets here....  This got to be a bit longer than I expected so if you're still reading then Thanks :)
