Year Anniversary!
on June 13, 2011 11:39 am
June 1, 2011 was my one year anniversary for my surgery! It's been an amazing journey.  Acoording to the scale at my doctor's office I had loss 107.5lbs!!! Just unbelievable.  I am still ~13 lbs from reaching my goal bu I'm so comfortable here that I'm no longer focused on the scale.  Changes I've noticed over the past year:

* a lot more energy
* I park farther away from store entrances and look to take steps whenever I can
* I love shopping which is a curse for my wallet!
* other people seem to think I'm more confident
* I cross my legs all the time
* regular towels fit around my body
* I notice when i'm full and actually stop eating; I no longer feel the need to take leftovers home

I've gotten comfortable with my progress and need to become more regular with my exercise.  otherwise, thing seem to be going well.  For those of you just starting out, I wish you continued success!!!

FINALLY BELOW 200 LBS!!!!
on May 10, 2011 8:06 am
As of this morning I charged into ONDERLAND!!! i WEIGHED IN AT 196.7!!! Unbelievable! I can't remember the last time I was under 200 lbs.  When I graduate high school I think I was around 180 but even then my graduation gown was a bit snug. I'm so excited about this that i had to snap a picture of the wii screen.

on April 13, 2011 6:11 am
As of Sunday, April 10 I had loss 101lbs! I couldn't believe it. I'm still about 20lbs from my goal weight but if i didn't loss another pound I'd be happy where I am.  I'm 10 1/2 months out from my surgery and I'm so happy about my progress! Hope you all are doing well and who knows what will happen in the next 1.5 months!

Still chugging along!
on April 1, 2011 7:30 am
Hi All! I'm still hanging in there.  I lost 6lbs this month and remain 1.6 lbs from having lost 100 total and another 1 lbs to get under 200.  I probably would have been there by now but I've been real lax on going to the gym.  I'm doing ok with my eating. I'm eating plenty of protein but probably should start eating a few more veggies.

I did lose a lot of hair and decided to chop all my hair off! I love it so far.  Ask me again in a few weeks... LOL! I'll try to post a pic of the hair and my new body soon.

My Story

I'm 32 yo and have been over weight all of my adult life.  I remember being 180 in HS and the scale has only gone upwards from there.  I've had a pretty decent life.  The most weight I've lost at one period is 60-70 lbs on Atkins, but of course I gained it all back plus some.  Recently I've become camera shy because I hate the way I look in pictures and I don't really go out thatmuch anymore either.

I considered WLS about 3 years ago and registered for the informational session, but lost the nerve to go the day before.  One of my best girlfriends had the surgery about 2 years ago and looks great.  Seeing her success gave me the courage to at least consider it again.  I attended the info seminar earlier this year and submitted the required paperwork soon thereafter.  About 5 weeks passed and I finally got the call from the doctor's office to schedule me for my psychologist, surgeon and nutrionist appointments.  If all goes well I should have RNY on June 1, 2010.  I'm ready for change! YES I CAN!!!!
