I was concerned about someone sticking a needle in my stomach. I did not know that they numb you first  :-)  I am usually a totally woosy girl when it comes to things like that.  I really didn't feel a thing. She did have to "dig" around a little because I guess my port is off to the left side.  But it is done and I am looking forward to not being hungry.   Have a great week everyone.  I hope none of you are close to the fires.   xxxooo angie

I am home, banded and really sore.  I had a HUGE Heilde hernia that they did not plan to find, but they are really glad they did. I am too :-)  They were looking for a hernia in a completely different place, so the fact that they found this was truly by the guiding of Gods hands.

Some angel left me a get well stomach pillow at the hospital.  It was such a blessing!!!  Someone knew exactly what I needed

I now know what it is like to have so many people pray for me.  I had very little pain in the hospital and just sore now. Besides fading in and out sleeping, I am doing okay for 2 days out.  Jesus be praised for bringing me such friends.

I am really sore today. Too bad too ….. I wanted to run 5 miles and do 100 sit ups. LOL. I can’t do anything even if I wanted to. Since they did an exploratory down both of my sides down to the groin looking for a lower hernia, fixed the hernia I did have, and put on the lap band, all I can do is get up to use the bathroom. And that causes pain. I know you will find this hard to swallow….. but it is hard to sit/lay around all day.

I was in the hospital overnight because of the extensive work they did. The Dr said the way the hernia was at the top of my stomach where it connects to the esophagus is the reason I never felt full after I ate. And the reason I have always had real bad heartburn. The top of the stomach is supposed to close. Mine didn’t.

I told that to my mom (they only thing I told my family about the surgery) was that I had the hernia and she was "so glad they found a reason you gained so much weight." Don’t you love her honesty???? I don’t!!!! Yeah, I know, she is my mom and I love her, but she can always find the wrong thing to say to me at the wrong time.

 

Time for me to drink a delicious protein shake and take a nap.
