John L. Coon, M.D., My first impression was that his office staff is very nice and helpful. Dr. Coon is also nice, knowledgeable, and I felt very comfortable talking to him and asking him questions.
When I had my surgery Dr. Coon was great. I had complications but he took good care of me. When I was in the hospital he came to see me often to make sure I was ok. 2 weeks after my surgery I had additional complications and had to go back to the hospital for a small procedure. He came to see me than and it was 10:30pm. I asked him what he was doing in this neck of the woods, and his reply was I had to make sure you were doing all right before the day ended.
I would recomend him. He has very good bedside manner. He even took out my sutchers so I didn't have to wait for the nurses.
Thank God I'm alive Ok so I haven't posted since 6/16 but a lot has happened since then. 1st I turned 40 on 6/26 which was on a thursday the day after i started feeling kinda funny. Than on the 26th and the 27th i started throwing up and couldn't really keep anything down. On that friday the 27th I called my doc and the nurse said to try warm tea and go back to just the clear liqs for a few days. I tried that but that didn't even work. So on sat the 28th i was throwing up violently all day but I keep thinking I would get better. Finally at about 8:50pm i ate an ice chip and when that came up 10min later I knew i had to call the doc back. I called the office and he called me back and told me to go straight to the emergency room and check in. I got to the hospital and they took blood pressure, it was 187 over 120. I was at stroke level. I was severly dehydrated. Well what happened was my scar tissue had swollen and closed up the hole to my pouch. It was the size of a pin. They had to put a scope down my throat with a balloon to open it back up. I stayed in the hospital 2 days. Had I not gone when I did, I don't think that I would be alive. The doc says that this just sometimes happens. they don't know why but it just happens. Yesterday I had and appointment and I advanced to stage 3 diet where I can eat soft cooked veggies and moist meats. I just tried to eat a soft scrambled egg with a little of the meat mixed in with cheese, gotta have protien and it came up. I am getting a little nervous. I will just wait to see what happens when I try to eat a little something else.

It will get better, remember chew, chew, chew, chew. My pouch did not and still after 5 months does not tolerate eggs well. Eat very slowly. I will keep you in my prayers.
