Surgeon TestimonialPavlos Papasavas I am so excited! I have a new surgeon. I met with him today for the first time and he spent more time with me along with his staff in one appointment than my old surgeon, Dr. Joseph Colella, did the entire time I was with him, since July 26th. The truth is, I have never even met Dr. Colella yet. So anyway, Dr. Papasavas is great. He's nice, thorough and makes sure you understand all that you are getting into. The fact that I was coming to him from another surgeon was not a problem, he took me right in. He didn't have openings until October but since I had all my work done and just waiting on the surgery, he was able to get me in this morning, talk about grateful. I love this man and can't say enough good about him!

I am finally here and ready to be a big "LOSER" for life!!! I just want to say to everyone, Love God, smile and be blessed always!

Thank You Jesus!!! on July 20, 2008 5:41 pm
I couldn't help but post these 2 pictures that my daughter took of me this morning before going to church. My husband says I am constantly looking at myself in the mirror, not because I think I'm all that but because I want to make sure the "flab" is all covered up and tucked in, smile. But I felt really good in this dress that just happens to be 5 sizes smaller than what I used to wear and I was going to church at that and had a blessed time. It was our first time at this church and most definitely won't be our last. My husband refused to go with us but I prayed that God would change his mind and He did and he went with us and actually enjoyed himself....this coming from a man who says that he's not heard a preacher yet speak the "whole" truth. So I was rejoicing in the fact that he went and loved the sermon. I just have to say that I am so happy right now, I'm 111 lbs. down and things are going great. I'm praising the Lord double time today. My testimony is: I have so many blessings that I won't complain!!! God bless to all of you.

Just checking in on July 2, 2008 8:39 pm
Well, well, where do I begin? I think I've entered a new phase in my new life. Last week I started eating, I wasn't hungry, just eating to be eating and of course being sick because of it. Then I said to myself, ok, I'm only going to eat raw veggies and fruit, like that was going to make it better so I was eating a lot. I used to do that before, I would go a few days where I would just eat to be eating. So I've recognized this and I found a support group today. I just got back to Ohio and so I didn't know where I could find one but there is a Barix Clinic about 2 miles from me so I will be going there for their support group. I'm excited about that. I keep checking my weight and I'm about 10 pounds shy of where I should be but then I think ok, I didn't lose a pound back in December so that's where that 10 pounds is from, smile. I'm happy with my weight loss though. I'm at 270 down from 374. One thing though, I don't feel any different. I mean I see the difference but I feel the same, so maybe I'm thinking that since I didn't have any health problems, that is the reason, like nothing to improve except the numbers. I can't imagine though how I carried around that104 pound though, whew! The kids and I are walking and I tell them if I say no, keep at me until I say yes and trust me, they do. If we don't get out, we walk to the exercise channel. I like shopping for clothes, so much fun. I tease my son, he is 12, 5'8" and weighs 278, he's bigger than both his father and me. I say I tease him but I also realize that he is overweight also and so we're trying to get him on track too. I know the struggle and so I don't want him going through it. Well, I just wanted to check in and say thanks to all of you for your kind words, encouragement and prayers. I couldn't do it without God first and then all of my OH friends...who understand and my kids. God bless you all.

New pictures on June 14, 2008 5:47 pm
Well, I've added new pix...let me know what you think. I went to the mall today and bought a top, another size smaller. This is fun! Not used to going to the mall and being able to buy clothes in any ole store, I bypassed Avenue and Lane Bryant, ha. I can still shop there, but they are no longer my only choices, yeaaa!! Love to all.

100 Pounds and counting on June 13, 2008 8:24 pm
Hello everyone. I am happy to report that I am officially 101 pounds down! Such an exciting moment for me. I'm so happy. Pictures will be coming soon. It's summer and I had to buy some new things because my kids were complaining of how baggy my old clothes are. My husband saw me today for the first time in form fittling clothes and I'm happy to report that he liked what he saw...yeaaaa. We moved back to Ohio and so far, we are doing ok. Well, I've got to spread the good news, I'll be back soon. I thank God for my many blessings!!!

6 Months out on April 21, 2008 6:20 pm
Hello all. I don't know about you and where you're at, but here in PA the weather has been great the last few days. I absolutely hate winter so this is so refreshing for me. I hit my 6 months and am down 81 pounds. I wanted to shoot for 100 but the absence of weight loss in December slowed me down, I'm not complaining though, I'm thanking God all the way. We went out over the weekend and a friend of my husband's saw us and his wife said there's Pawlla and he was like where? That's not Pawlla I was elated. Now, I look the same to me and am wearing my old clothes...which by the way are hanging on me but that comment made me feel good. I wish I could get myself to exercise more. I'm looking into treadmills now for home, hopefully I'll do it more if it's right in front of me. We have a home gym and a bike but we never touch them. But as I said, things are going well and I have no complaints. I'm so glad I did this, for a minute I was regretting it but that has quickly passed. It doesn't seem like it's been 6 months but I'm looking forward to the next 6....even though that means it will be winter again, ugh!!! I just wanted to check in and say hello and let everyone know that I am blessed...better than blessed and I thank God for each and every day and each and every one of you!!! Talk to you soon.

My Story Hi All!!
I am a 38 year old wife and mother of 2. I come from an obese family and I've been overweight all of my life. I've been pondering the idea of weight loss surgery for some time now but more seriously in the last two years since my mother had a stroke and my younger brother has had two heart attacks. My doctor says I'm as healthy as a horse but my weight is just out of control so I knew then that it was time. My children are 13 and 11 and I knew it was time to be an active mother to them also. So here I am.
I am excited and yet nervous about my surgery. I can't wait for the results but I know this is a life change and I just don't want to fail. I just want to get the surery itself over and then I will feel better.
I ask any and all to contact me because I can use all of the support I can get. My husband is supporting me 100% but having someone who is going through it is even better! Hope to hear from you and I will keep you posted.
Smile and have a blessed day!!!
Pawlla
