Hi,
I'm a lapband girl - 4 years out. Best thing I've ever done! Problem is I've been running backwards down a hill, and need it to stop. I think journaling helps me, so decided to give this a shot. Wish me luck!

wooohooooo down 10 lbs on September 19, 2008 6:58 am
yesterday scale said.... 233.5 yeah!!! I fell like I am back on track! finally, after a year of struggling, I have recommited to excercise and eating healthy most of the time. I'm taking it slow....not starving myself....but if I eat a unhealthy lunch, then at dinner, I really think...and make excellent choices.
I also have added some pilates and yoga on the fitball, and I think it helps tremendously. My abs have hurt the entire week...and I've only been on their twice. Try FIT TV... In Shape with Sharon Mann...I love her.
Thanks to all of you at OH who help inspire me, and make me believe I can do it!!!! I feel so much more confident because of all of you!
:)

PS- I am going to Cabo 10/11 and swear to you I will be able to wear my favorite lavendar suit, even if it's snug! Tried it on today, and it is close to doable!

Whew, it's coming off slowly but surely. I haven't changed what I eat, but have definitely cut portions and am more consistent with working out.

Doing good! on May 3, 2008 6:43 am
Down 4 pounds in 4 days. Need to keep it off over the weekend. :) Since this is my first week of being healthy it's easy for weight to come off. Need to walk Saturday and Sunday.
Goal is to be down 4-5 pounds- weight of 233 by Wednesday, May 7th.

Time to start blog 4/30/08 on April 30, 2008 6:24 pm
Hi, I am back, and wanting to get back on track. Struggle is my middle name right now. I keep gaining, not that it's an excuse but I travel for a living, and I cannot focus on eating healthy and working out when I travel... maybe it's the beer. I want to get back to 192, that is my goal!!!! I have a beautiful lavendar swimsuit and I want to fit in it by October 11th when I go to Cabo. My goal is to be a hot babe on the beach, and healthy and having fun.
I was reading Valerie Bertenelli's new book and jotted down some notes.
-church, I need to go to church
-try therapy
-fill (just had my band filled yesterday)
-high protein/low carb
-FOR 1 week be healthy, the rest will follow
-limit beer intake...especially at golf
-no COKE, it is bad for me. So are bread products.
-going without, is not as hard on me as gaining weight has been. Skinny is better than food any day!!!!
-REMEMBER I have as much fun eating healthy and drinking less- don't forget!!!
-picture envision a healthier, fit me!!
- lavendar suit!!!!!
-lose weight will help snoring and knee pain
-Envision what I want to look like, and how I want to feel.
- I love to walk/elliptical, just need to get in the habit. 5 times per week! I can do it!!!

My Story
Hello! I've scheduled Lap Band surgery for 3/31/04. I'm still in the unsure stage, and would love to hear from anyone-- especially someone who has had the lap band procedure. I'm excited, but very nervous!
My hobbies- I love to travel, golf, read, listen to music.
3/6/04 I am getting very excited about my surgery, thank to all of you who post on the message board. It really helps to see how everyone is doing, both good and bad. And to know that the bad stuff- does get better. I've just had my pre-surgery testing-- psych test, and esophogus tests. I should be good to go! Starting weight 300 pounds- BMI of 47.0
4/5/04-
Hello- I'm 5 days post-op and I am doing good. :) Weight has been coming off fast- did a 10 day pre-surgery liquid diet, and have been on liquids since surgery. I've lost 21 pounds to date!
5/25/04-
8 weeks post op. I'm down a total of 42 pounds, including loss from pre-surgery liquid diet. I am so happy that I've had this surgery, and have no regrets. No problems at all. Had my first fill yesterday 5/24/04 and it was painless and easy. I'm now on a liquid diet to get used to the fill. BMI now 40.4 wahoo!
6/5/04-
Had my first fill on 5/24--in two weeks I've dropped 8 pounds. yeah.... The fill was painless and quick. I definitely feel more restricted, but am still able to eat most foods. Down a total of 50 pounds. Oh and check out the BMI, I'm below 40! That is the first time in about 15 years. I love the band. 250 lbs BMI 39.2
7/10/04-
The last month has been very slow weightloss, and I felt I was able to eat more than I should, so I had another fill on 8/7--the liquid diet that follows the fill sure helps with weightloss. I'm now down a total of 60 pounds !!! I'm now 240 lbs --first time I can remember being that weight. Hey I'm almost at the weight my Driver's License says....wahhoo. The past month I was very social and was having cocktails several nights a week and that really slowed my weightloss, now I'm back to drinking water when going out with friends--I guess I had the surgery to lose weight, and I'm not going to let margaritas slow that down. I HOPE! 240lbs BMI 37.6
9/3/04-
Slow but steady weightloss. :) I'm down to 232 and guess what-- I was shopping for dress pants- took a bunch of 20's to the dressing room. And they were too big. So I tried on some 18's and they all fit. I had the biggest lump in my throat and wanted to cry in the store. I haven't worn an 18 since highschool, and I don't ever remember when that was. To any of you thinking about the band, it's the best thing I've ever done. Goodluck.
10/11/04
I'm now down 76 pounds. yeah! I'm so excited! I feel so good about my health, and about my new weight. Again this is the best thing I've ever done. I just bought a size 16W jeans--I love them, and get compliments everywhere I go.
11/14/04
Total lost is 83 pounds. The last month was a real struggle, I felt I was able to eat too much. I had a fill on 10/24--and it's been much better since then. So the weight is coming off again--yeah! Can't wait to reach 90 pounds.
1/29/04
The 83 above was fluke , I was up and down for a while, and am now at a solid 88 lost. Just 12 more to reach the century mark.... hope to do that by my bandiversary 3/31/05.... After that I'd like to lose another 20-30 pounds, I'm getting close. Love my band!
5/19/05
hello, it's been about 14 months since my lapband, and I wanted to give an update to help those of you thinking about the surgery. It is the BEST thing I' ve ever done. I've lost about 100 pounds. I had a thighlift and tummy tuck two weeks ago. I'm hoping I've lost more, some of this may be fluid retention from surgery. I love the band, love my new slimmer self, love to walk and run....and love life. Would still like to lose about 20 pounds, so will work on that after I heal from the plastic surgery. Will post pre-tummy tuck surgery, and as soon as the swelling goes down and I can walk straight will update with a post plastic surgery picture.
12/30/05
Wow, it's been a long time since I've posted or updated a picture. At the time of the picture I'd lost 108 pounds--wahoo! And am quite happy with my weightloss--and okay where I'm at. Since a couple of vacations, Thanksgiving, and Christmas I've gained about 15 pounds, I'm pretty much unrestricted and can eat quite a bit. It's amazing how you go back to your old eating habits, after January 1, it's time for me to go back to eating healthy and excersizing regularly. My bad habits need to end. :) Too all of you out there considering the band---- it is the BEST thing I've ever done. Looking better and wearing smaller clothes are a small part of this---feeling better, moving better, fitting in airplane seats better, not sweating so much..........wow, what a difference a band makes.
Good luck to all of you!
Kim

Cannot believe it's been three years since I had surgery, wow time flies. I still think the Lapband is the BEST thing I've ever done, I have gained some of my weight back, about 25 pounds, I'm trying to lose part of that as we speak-so I can fit in my skinny clothes. I've maintained this for about 7 months, by working out, otherwise I could go back where I came from. :) Working out, is a magic key and changing your eating habits, that is the part I struggle with. To those of you thinking about surgery --it's a great tool!
Best of luck,
Kim
