4/27/12 Losing Slowly
on April 27, 2012 4:42 am
Almost to the year mark and down to 177. I am able to eat everything again but smaller quantities. Still feeling good and now fitting into size 16 jeans. I haven't been in this size since 1979 when I was in high school. I have more energy and do not have joint pain. My asthma doesn't bother me anymore but I feel cold when others are not. The rest of my life has stayed the same. I encourage those who have battled their weight most of their life to give this a try. Find a good surgeon, do your research and Good Luck.

2/9/12 Almost 7 months after surgery
on February 9, 2012 9:09 am
I just had my 6 month check and all is well. I am 184 pounds down from a whopping 306 pounds. My face has changed alot. I have cheek bones and I have recently noticed my collar bones.

I still see a smaller but fat person in the mirror. My hips are about 47 inches so I am sure that is a big part of it.  I will loose more inches in front and back, but my hip bones are just about to the outer edges.

I still think of myself as 284 pounds. Being in one-derland just is hard to wrap my head around. My nails are growing great with the healthier eating style. I am more active and seem to want to do more.

I have had the best 6 months than I have had in a long time. My hair is starting to come back in and I have adjusted to my short hair.

If I died tomorrow, I know that this would still have been the right thing to do for me. I love living and not just existing.

Hair is cut short 1/17/12
on January 17, 2012 6:16 am
I cut my long hair after growing it out for 2 years. I was pretty broken hearted, but it looks much better. I am still shedding somewhat and look forward to it stopping.

I have been stuck at 190 pounds and just can't seem to get into that new set of numbers. I have been snacking on some cookies my daughter and hubby made. I haven't had many, but it is more than I should have. Hoping to hit the gym next week. I am worried about sustaining my weightloss because I still hate to exercise. I just have to keep working to conquer my lazy side.

Hair Loss 1/8/12
on January 8, 2012 3:22 am
I have been shedding for a couple of months and my hair is very thin. I can see my scalp, but my remaining hair just hangs and I will have to get it cut. I am very sad. I have been growing it for 2 years. It was the longest I had ever had it. The good thing is I am down to 190 and hope to get into a new set of number soon. Just stopped working(Christmas help) so I plan on starting to go to the gym. and firming up. Hopefully, that will spur quicker weight loss. I am about 65 pounds from my goal.

December 9th 2011

Wow, I have lost 100 lbs. What a journey. Overall, it hasn't been too bad. I do have problems getting my calcium and drinking my protein drinks. I just don't have much of an appetite. I will go to the Dr. in January. I missed by appointment in October because I was at work. If my insurance would have covered a sleeve, I think I would have preferred that. I don't like that I can't get those calcium tablets down. I do love that I can do my job with ease now. You just don't know how much strain you put on your body with an additional 100 pounds. Even if you do gain it gradually. I also hate that my hair is so thin. What hair I have left is lifeless. I hope it starts to grow back soon.
