So it is the last day of February and I have lost a total of 60 pounds!  I am so happy with my progress!  My next mini goal is to lose another 15 pounds by the end of March.  We have a family vacation scheduled and I would like to be down a total of 75 pounds by then.  Wish me luck!

February 15, 2007 - Valentine's Day Recap
on February 15, 2007 8:05 pm

My husband, Tom, had to go out of town on business this week.  It was the only time available to go since I travel with my job and had several trips booked the rest of the month.  Well, Tom took our almost 3 y/o twin boys shopping on Sunday when I was out of town.  He had the kids draw pictures and pick out gifts for me.  He wrapped everything up and told the boys that it was a secret until Valentine's day and hid the gifts with the boys.  He told them to get the gifts on Valentine's day and give them to mommy.

When I woke up on Wednesday and wished the boys a Happy Valentine's Day.... they both ran into the other room and grabbed the gifts... running back yelling "HOPPY BALENTINE'S DAY MOMMY"!

They remembered what daddy said 3 days earlier.  It was so darn cute I wanted to cry!

Later that day, a beautiful flower arrangement came for me.  It has Hydrangea's and Lilies and some other flowers in it.  Tom knows I am not into roses. I find them a waste since you spend so much money on them and they never fully open.  You usually have a vase or droopy heads in a day or so.

That evening, I made dinner for the boys.  My mom came over for dinner too. It was a very nice day even though Tom was not there to share it.  We will celebrate on Saturday.

I am so excited!  I reached my first "mini" goal!  I wanted to be 50 pounds less by Valentine's Day.  Well, I beat that by 1 day and by 1 pound.  I officially lost 51 pounds on February 13th!  My next "mini" goal is another 20 pounds by March 27th.

I also had a WOW moment... It is snowing like crazy here in Chicago and hubby had to go out of town.  Well, it was up to me to shovel the snow.  I needed a pair of long warm pants to go out there.  I pulled out a pair of my hubby's sweat pants.... just thought I would give them a try.  Well, THEY FIT!  Not loose but I could get in them and be comfortable.  I can't wait to actually weigh less than my hubby.  I have never weighed less than him.

I am starting to set self-challenges for myself too.  My first self-challenge is to introduce excerise into my week.  I would like to be getting some type of work-out 3 times a week by March 16th.

51 POUNDS GONE FOREVER!

Today we went to the Chicago Symphony Orchestra (CSO) with the kids for their Children's series.  This is the first time in at least 10 years that I could sit in the seats comfortably.  I did not feel like my body was squeezed and pressed into the chair.  I had room to move around so my knees did not hurt when I got up.  What a great day!  Now all I need to do id break this weight loss stall I have been dealing with for the past week or so.

Here's to many more wonderful nights at the theatre!

Today I am pretty down.  I have not lost any weight in a week.  Then today I had lunch and I had something stuck for about an hour.  Dinner came and I felt crummy again.  I feel like "why the heck did I do this to myself!"

I called my mom to talk.  She was very encouraging and gave me a pep talk.  My husband keep encouraging me on a daily basis.  I am just having a down day.  I hate when I am like this.  It is so infrequent so when it does happen it is noticable.

My kids are the reason I did this.  Tonight I had so much fun with them.  I play with Zach.... kissed and tickled him (I do this with both of them).  Tonight, he came up to me and said... "I got you!"  "I Kiss you!"  and he proceeded to try to tickle me and kiss me all over my face.  It was so darn cute!

I also did this for my health.  I already feel better.  My feet have not hurt in weeks!  How awesome is that... when daily I was in pain.  I can get up off the floor so much easier and I can climb the fromthe basement to the second floor without getting totally winded.  All I can think is that it will keep getting easier.  I have to keep reminding myself of this.

This weight did not go on overnight... I can't expect that it will come off overnight.  I have to work at it!

My next goal I am going to set for myself is to start working out.  I hope that will help with the weight loss and get me in better spirits.  I will start small.  I don't want to get discouraged.
