Good Luck, and a safe journey. Do the things you are told, try and walk as much as you can. The first week is hard, but things will get better.

Been a long time
on August 29, 2010 3:56 pm
WOW a month since I've updated lol.. I contribute that to my little transfer addiction.. I can't put my Kindle down :P  I've been reading like crazy!!!  Reading and drinking tea and sooooooooooooooooomtimes some kettle corn.  OK Ok who am I kidding... kettle corn all the time, buts it's the 100 calorie packs!

Support group is always great and I can't believe how great this whole process has been.  I know I'm one of the lucky ones to have no side affects.. well unless I deserved it.  I got campy and didn't feel well yesterday but that was totally my own fault.. cookie with extra sweet stuff was a pretty stupid idea.  But you live and learn and grateful that I even had that happen.  I love the fact that I crinkle my nose when someone asks me if I want a doughnut or something.  Just the thought of how I would feel 5 min after 1/2 of it would go down makes me .

I know my weight loss is a bit slow and that's due to my own lazy butt not going to the gym.  I need to just suck it and go!  I'm getting so close to being able to wear some cute clothes that have been lingering in my closet for a few years.

Hope every one of my OH buddies are doing well.

Feeling Faaaaaaaaaaaaaantastic!
on July 28, 2010 7:42 pm
So it's been a bit since I've jotted down whats been going on.  Thought it was time for an update.

Today was my check up with the Doc and we went over my blood work.  It's all good!!  All my levels are really good and she said I'm right on track The only issue I've had is just being tired from time to time.  I just go into my car on my lunch hour, lay down and read.  Sometimes I fall asleep, sometimes I don't.  Doc said this was 100% normal and to just listen to my body.

I'm back at the gym able to do so much more cardio than I've ever been able to do.  I did an hour today A FREAKING HOUR of cardio!!!  So proud of myself!!! People at work are really starting to notice my weight loss and their complements really keep me on track and motivated.

All in all life is wonderful!!!  Having WLS bliss at the moment!

Almost 2 mo post op!
on July 6, 2010 7:49 pm
Man it's been awhile since I've been on here.  Lets see where to start first?

1 - I lllllllllllllllove my scale again!  Seeing the weight come off is such an amazing feeling.  I haven't been this weight in years.
2- Tossing old clothes and feeling my clothes kinda hang on me makes me feel soo good.  It's like a wonderful confirmation that I'm on the right track.
3- Hope this isn't TMI but LOL My boyfriend showers me with affection and can't keep his hands off :P

Cons.. PMS..I crave chips big time.  I bought a smaller bag of lightly salted kettle chips..bought them on Sunday.. gone Monday...
I'm trying to remind myself "don't do it, you don't want to go down that road again" then poof the bag is gone..  I swear it's like getting over a addiction.  I'm so grateful for sugar free Popsicles.  It's really helps with cravings for me.  Oh speaking of cravings.. the smell of red meat.. blehhhhh.  I haven't even tried to eat it yet.

Just trucking along.. slowly but surly.

4.. 4 weeks post op ah ah ahhhh
on June 12, 2010 10:11 am
So I'm a wonderful 4 weeks post op and things are going still pretty good.  I had a minor stall last week but started loosing again :)  Of course getting my period this week didn't help.  I'm pretty sure there aren't any men reading my post...

So aside from the day I get home from surgery, this is my fist post op cycle... Oh holy crap Had the worse cramps I've had in years!! I would be talking, then in mid sentence I would just *Holy $hit* double over a bit and breathe through it..My energy level dropped drastically this week too.  I was having to nap in my car on my lunch hour.  Once things.. happened,  life was much better.  I did have some battles with food choices.  Some I won, some I caved.

I like going out to dinner and when I order having the waiter or who ever asking "is that it? Do you want etc..,?" heheh kinda fun.

Oh and I got an early bday present too this week, my boyfriend gave me a beautiful diamond ring.  LOL not engagement or anything, just a really pretty ring.  I'm thrilled!!  LOL so I as kinda bumbed when we got it because I had to have it sized a few sizes bigger and couldn't wear it right away.  So 2 weeks later when we picked it up (Thursday) I put it on and it's a little big.  Go figure.  my bday present

Week 3 truckin along
on June 2, 2010 8:27 pm
Here we are at wonderful week 3... I can't wait to start using the Magic Bullet to start making something more than pureed veggies or tuna .  Ah shoot, June 8th is my WLS support group, well then the 9th I'm headed for some sushi!  Dive into the soft food stage with some ahi... STOOOKED!

OK, let me get my head out of the food clouds for a minute.  So today I met with Valley Medicals NUT and she is so sweet, fantastic, wonderful - I want to take her home with me and keep her in my cupboard!  In my standard scatter brained thinking, I thought today was my post op nutrition class.  Nope, it's tomorrow.  When I showed up she still took me into her office and I had a wonderful one on one with her.  She was so informative and patient, I wish more people in her profession were like her.

So feeling kinda blah lately, but I think that's because I haven't been back to the gym yet.  I can't wait until I can go back tomorrow.  My Nut said I could start back up, but wait one more week for weights.  It's going to feel so good to go see the girls there and get my sweat on

I'm currently on a stall which I guess is normal and I'm ready to power through it.  My two issues really are getting in my fluids and protein.  Once I get that together I'm sure it will be smooth sailing.

Well see you guys next week!

My Story

Well I'm sure like everyone else here, this is a long time coming!  I once tried to have surgery before when I was about 23 or so.  LOL I was declined because I was 'so young' by the shrink.  Now almost 10 years and at least 70+ lbs heavier, I'm giving this another shot.

I feel like everything in my life is in place.  I have a wonderful close and supportive family, a boyfriend who is the love of my life, 2 best friends from over 10 years ago.  Everything is great, but this giant massive body I have.

I have a very outgoing personality and it's high time that my outside matches my inside!  I have a H U G E  support system and just ready to get going!!
