Hello my new friends in weight loss! My name is Amy. I have been struggling with weight problems since my early teens. I was a skinny child. I remember my grandmother saying "You don't know if its your belly or your back that hurts you are so skinny!" How I wish for those days to be back. I weighed in at 273 pounds when I met my surgeon Dr. Schoen. I am disgused and embarrased about the way I look. I haven't worked in about 3 years because of health problems. I am seeking advise about how others have coped with Bariatric Surgery. I turned 50 in December and am engaged to a wonderful man. We met about 7 years ago and he is the first person in my life that accepts me for who I am. He loves me for whats inside, not the fat slob I feel like at times. Never been married no children except the dog who is my constant companion. I am going to the nutrition class tomorrow, and am scheduled for the Psyc eval on Wed. I am both scared and happy that I have made this decision. I need some advise on what to expect and how you have made the transition to a healther person! I look forward to hearing from you!!
