5 weeks out
Wow its been five weeks and I haven't updated anything. Well lets see, I came home from surgery 7 pounds heavier than when I went in, it took me a week to shed that weight. In the next two weeks I lost 17 pounds, since then I have been in a stall. I go from 243- 245 everyday. It gets truly annoying to see the same thing everyday for two weeks. So today I had my first post-op appointment. Keep in mind that I only eat 1/4 cup of protein 3 times a day, no snacks, no protein shakes. Guess what my surgeons recommendation was to break my stall. EAT LESS. Wow eat less, I barely get 35g of protein as it is and less than 200 calories a day. He told me not to focus on protein or calories, but to eat less, so go from 1/4cup to 1/8 cup at 5 weeks out. It really confuses me how I see some post-ops who have to aim for at least 60g of protein and I'm being told to decrease my intake even more. 1/8c for 5 weeks out seems way to small to me. I will do as my surgeon suggested but it seems so odd when I see protein being stressed so much and I'm being told not to focus on protein, but to focus on eating less, very confusing.
