Surgeon Testimonial

Joao Marchesini, M.D.
I lack the words to describe just how wonderful Dr. Marchesini is. Everything I have heard about him is absolutely true. He's very professional, but puts you at ease. Luckily I didn't have any complications during or after surgery, but while I was there a couple of patients did and he didn't hesistate to personally address their issues. Even going so far as to perform surgery on a patient who suffered complications from a vehicle accident AND not charging her for it. How many doctors do you know would do that? Dr. M is very capable, well trained, cares about his patients immensely (I saw him numerous times in the hotel checking on patients). He is at the top of his game and one of the best DS surgeons there are in the world. I feel blessed to have him as my doctor. I would give him a 10 out of 10!

Hi!  My name is Tia and I live in Georgia.  I had the Biliopancreatic Diversion with Duodenal Switch in Curitiba, Brazil on August 30, 2006 with the wonderful Dr. Joao Marchesini whom I love dearly.  Best decision I ever made.

I'm pretty quiet on the boards but I visit multiple times a day.

I'm the girl who built the new DS Lab Rat Data page.  Please take some time and enter your data.  My hope is that it will serve as a great tool for years to come.

You can keep up with me on my blog at http://gettingswitched.blogspot.com.  I try to update daily.

As of 12/28/2008, I am down 285.4 lbs!

God bless!

My Story

My advice to all pre-ops and those in the middle of their journey:  Be as compliant as you can for as long as you can.  KEEP YOUR CARBS LOW for the love of all that is good and holy!  Don't mess around during your weight loss window.  Think of it as the last "diet" you'll ever do.

You can read the entire drama of when I first contacted my surgeon to present day on my blog: http://gettingswitched.blogspot.com
