 Went to see my before surgery appointment and do the pre op at the hospital on 3-3-2011.

I was informed that the surgery date is for Monday 3-7-2011 at 10 AM instead of Tuesday 3-8-2011.

Wow this changed my Sunday plans. 

My last meal will now be at work because Sunday is my liquid only day.

Oh well I guess it is for the best beacuse I have less time to think about the surgery and how it will go.

The idea of the surgery is great and l but, I am starting go get anxious about what I will feel like after it is done. 

Not so much the pain but the new uncharted water I am sailing into.

I am commited to this proceedure and the new life I will recieve from it.

As Spock would say live long and prosper is how I am looking at it.

Lori sent me my packet to fill out and bring to my first appointment, I will get it filled out. Well as much as I can before I meet the
doc. I am trying to cover as many lose ends as I can with my insurance company but they are not full of alot of information. Oh yeah I see the Doc on 12= 9=2010 at 10AM.

Well I went to my pcp today and was given the go ahead to get withthe program.
Called Saint Lukes to contact Dr. Oakley and was told seminar first.
I got lucky there was one tonight 11-22-2010 6 to 8 PM.
It was very good but my research had me up on the procedures.
I did find out where the doc is comming from.
Not sure if he will do the DS but once Lori sets up my appointment I should know for sure.
Sure hope I get the DS because I like the concept ove the RNY.
Took the wife with me and she now see what I am talking about.

Well here we go! my first blog, LOL.
I have all the questions in the world and little answer.

The big one is mini gastric bypass or the ds switch.

I was moving on with the mini with DR. Rutledge and then found out he did not work with Ins co.

Found out that I have to go to a COE center of excellence if there is on within 50 miles.
St Lukes of Meridian has one so it looks like I will go there.

Get to talk to my primary doc on Monday to get the ball rolling.

It should go good since he suggested it 2 years ago.

I guess the DS
Switch is looking best for me.

Oh yeah I guess I should tell you who I am.

I am a 55 year old male standing 5' 10" weighing 315 today. that should put me at 45+ BMI.

would love any input about the DS switch pro or con.

How fast can this get put together?
