Surgeon Testimonial

Leland J. Cook
Dr. Cook is a skilled surgeon. He is quiet, and very concerned that his surgeries go well, and that his patients have no problems. If you have a problem related to another health issue, he prefers you see your family doctor, and sometimes that creates problems especially when there is a conflict in medicine choices. His staff are very competent, and took great care of me.

It's almost a full MOON!
on June 18, 2008 2:02 am
Well, here at the NC insane asylum (LOL) actually Broughton Hospital, where I am a nurse, you can really tell the moon is almost full.  The natives are definitely restless.  Tomorrow, Lew and I have the night off, and I am SO glad.  so if I don't post tomorrow, that is why.  I just want to relax and not worry about doing a thing!  We are going to Buffalo Wild Wings and doing a test run, and see how we like the restaurant.  Ever hear of a secret shopper?  Well ask me if you want to know more details.  Its fun, and you can even make a little bit of money or get a free meal.  As far as my weight goes, I am still in the same spot.  I weigh at least every day, and I know I am not supposed to do that, but I DO.... and I wish I could stop.  But some things I am obsessive compulsive about and thats one of them!  NOW to get those numbers to MOVE.... I am taking my Xenical, which is a fat blocker and hoping it helps.  Yall, be Good!!  hugs all around, and talk soon!  Mags

Present, as promised!
on June 17, 2008 1:41 am
Hey ya'll.... just a quick note to say hi and hope everybody is doing well, this 17th day of June!.  Karen it was great to hear from you and by the way, SORRY i missed your birthday, I am truly sorry.  Hope it was a good day even though you didn't get cake.  I am still hanging in here, and today, my bud Maxine goes for her 3rd fill and I am still waiting for my second.  I decided to wait until after the 1st of July to call and set up an appointment because my new insurance kicks in and the copay will be less.  I hope that he will give me a fill the next time, because I don't have enough restriction and I WANT to lose some more weight.  Right now it is my sheer determination that is keeping me from adding the LBS back on!!!  Everybody goes through this I am sure.  EVER have one of those days when all you want to do is EAT>???  well, Lord bless you then, cause I have and it is really scary.  Still, not scary enough to stop ya!  LOL!!  I got to BE GOOD!!!!
Ok my friends, til tomorrow, you be good and take care.  Hugs all around, Mags

Lord have mercy, its been TWO WEEKS!!!
on June 16, 2008 1:05 am
Hey everybody, sorry I haven't written in a long time, can't believe it was two weeks.  From now on, I am going to write something, even if it is nothing but to say HI.  I know everybody likes reading things like this, even me, so I won't miss much anymore unless I can't help it.
Well I have been working alot of OT and celebrated my daughters 21st birthday on the 7th.  We went to Red Lobster.  That was a great meal, and I didn't have alot of restriction, so I really ate more than I should have.  I shared a plate with the hubby.  Still, it was wonderful.
As far as my weight loss, well I am hanging in there at 305.  My body is just determined NOT to let me lose any more, haha!  But I am determined to fight it.  Lately, I have had cravings for sweets, so I bought some 100 calorie packs of sweet things, but the chocolate covered pretzels are to DIE for!!!
I know we are not supposed to even eat sweets, but heck, life is too short to pine away for something chocolate!
I am doing better I ride my exercise bike 30 mins every day, and only miss when my gout hurts so bad, I cant stand it.  I tried Richard Simmons, Sweating to the Oldies, which I dearly love, But, my gout flared up every time I tried to do it..... so i had to hang ole Richard up.
Ya'll, I am so glad I had this surgery.  I wanted and needed badly to lose weight.  But sometimes I wish I had had the bypass and gotten it over with.  Anybody out there ever feel that way?  I know my health would not allow me to have it with my low hemoglobin, but if I had, by now, I would be really down some lbs!!!  Oh well, hindsight is 20/20, they say.  Well, this is all for now, but will talk again tomorrow.  HUGS ALL AROUND, we are women of the world and we are tough!!  Mags
