Surgeon Testimonial

Phillip Hornbostel, M.D.
My first impression of Dr Hornbostel is that he knows his stuff.rn My husband and I felt very comfortable after attending his seminar.rnHis Nurse Dena was very informative and helpful also.rnThey both went over the surgeries and the risks of surgery and answered questions from people attending the seminar.rnI now have a consult date on Jan 24th 2007 and I am very excited about this. rn

Done with flying colors!
on April 30, 2007 7:49 am
Had my surgery on April 23rd and finished with flying colors.
My sis and I are doing great! I go to my first post op visit with Dr. H on Thursday.
I just want to thank everyone for all their help and wisdom. This is a great forum!
I don't know how to put up my diet ticker but I have lost 25# from the time I did my 2 weeks of slim fast and my surgery. It seems like I am "melting" I am still on clear liquids until I see my Doctor. I love my new tummy!

I Have a Date!!
on February 10, 2007 12:16 pm
I finally have a date! My surgery is scheduled for April 24th... WOOHOO
I am excited and relieved to know that I have been approved and am set up for my surgery. I hope the time flies by fast so my nerves won't explode!
Now I am waiting for my sister to get her approval and her date. We were hoping we could do this together. I am having the sleeve and she elected to have the rny.
I am waiting for my papers to go to my pre-op, that will make it seem more real.
Until next time....

Going with the vertical sleeve gastrectomy
on January 29, 2007 9:13 am
I have finally decided to go with the vertical sleeve gastrectomy. My surgeon also recommends this for me.
After doing much searching, I feel this is the safest and most desirable for me. I like the fact that it does not interfere with the intestines and there are no fills etc.
I am now waiting for approval and a surgery date. Wish me Luck!
I am so glad there is a forum for this type of surgery, it has really helped me gather more info.
Will keep posting when I know more.
Thanks to Everyone who has replied to my questions
Keep in Good Health

My Story

My name is Virgina Patrica Larson, I am 66 years young with a birthday coming up in March. I have been overweight since my last child and she is now 34 years old. I had never had a weight problem until I went thru 2 surgeries and then a c-section. Thats when it all started to change. I have tried a lot of the fad diets and spent a lot of money on the pricy ones too. Nothing had helped. I started looking into the lap band but after talking with my surgeon and researching weight loss I decided to go with the vertical sleeve gastrectomy. I feel very comfortable about my decision.

I am married (39 Years) live in Kansas and have 3 children 6 grandchildren and a great grandchild on the way. You can say I am family oriented, My family means a lot to me.

I have a wiennie dog that comforts me and keeps my feet warm at night.

I am still working, I am a LPN and I work the evening shift. I like that shift because I can still sit and drink my coffee and then get moving.

Well this is just a little bit about me.....More later
