Surgeon Testimonial

Philippe Quilici
Dr. Quilici was very pleasant and very straightforward. He told me what his recommendation would be for me, the steps I had to complete before surgery would be scheduled, and I felt very comfortable with him. The most informative part of my first visit was the time spent with the nutritionist, Julie. She was very helpful, explained about the surgery and what to expect post op. Very knowledgeable and nice. There were 3 of us \"first timers\" and we sat in a group for the nutrition part, then we all had one-on-one time with Dr. Quilici. They have support groups twice a week, and a good follow up program (from what I've read so far)

So much has happened in one week.  I saw my PCP on Tuesday just for followup of all the labs, chest x-ray, etc. that I had done prior to the appointment.  She's very supportive of my decision for WLS and has been wonderful about getting everything together for me.

I had my Psycho/Social Eval on Wednesday, and then attended my first support group Weds night.  There must have been around 50 people there!  What a great source of inspiration and resources!  I plan on being a regular attender!

Yesterday (Friday) I got the results of my psych eval and was recommended for surgery!!!  YEAH!!!  Now, I call the surgeon's office on monday, and make sure they have submitted everything to my insurance company for approval.  And, the waiting begins.  So, fingers and toes crossed for a smooth approval!
