My Journey to Healthy

Six Months Post lbl/bl
on December 28, 2011 12:00 am
Six months ago today I had my lower body lift and breast lift with the amazing Dr. LoMonaco!! I am so thankful to Dr. L and his staff. He made me feel "whole" again. I am still amazed at his handiwork. I am 45 years old and used to be 200 pounds heavier, so putting me back together was a difficult task. I am at peace with my appearance and feel such a sense of calmness now. Life is good.

Honestly, the first few days were tough. I have a hard time coming out of anesthesia. I had 4 drains, a pain pump, and a catheter. I did take my pain medicine on schedule to prevent pain and my pain level never got above a 3. By day 10, all the things hanging out of my body were gone, and I was doing much better. For me the mental part of the recovery was the hardest. I am used to being on the go, and having to lay around in bed drove me a little bit crazy.

I am a teacher and had 7 weeks off to recover. I was still exhausted when I returned to work. By the end of the 3rd month I started to feel better as far as energy goes. Now I feel totally back to normal.

I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Here I am in my XS Christmas pajama pants (I think of myself as more of a "medium" but with today's vanity sizing, an XS it is)
