Surgeon Testimonial

Gus J. Slotman, M.D.
I was very impressed with Dr. Slotman when I first walked into his office. He reviewed
the info about the surgery, what I should expect, time of recovery, etc. I was also very
impressed with the pre-surgery, during surgery
and after surgery care that Dr. Slotman and the
Lourdes Medical Associates team provided to me.
I would strongly recommend any person considering the surgery to trust Dr. Slotman
with the operation. He has said to me several
times,"I want to thank you for what you have done for me." He would continue by saying,
" You see, when you look good you make me look
good!"

My 1 year check-up
on February 14, 2011 12:59 am
My surgery was Nov. 30, 2009. At that time, my blood pressure, thyroid levels, blood sugar levels and depression was "thru the roof".I was weighing 430 lbs!! On Dec. 4th, 2010, I had my 1 yr. check-up with my surgeon, Dr. Gus Slotman. My blood pressure, thyroid levels, protein levels, blood sugar levels were all with limits!! My weight was recorded at 285 lbs!!! That makes my total weight loss to date at 145 lbs!!!  I thank God that I can continue to follow "The Plan" designed for me by my Surgeon, Dr. Gus Slotman and my support group leader, Cheryl Marks. I have also read books about before and after the surgery: "Weight loss surgery for Dummies", "Winning After Losing", "The Emotional First + Aid Kit" and "Eat it up"(Connie Staplelton). I have started an exercise plan by going to my gym 3 times a week! For now, Iam doing 25 mins. on the treadmill, weights for upper body and to help strengthen my knees. I thank God for my progress and my new "lease on life"!!

On June 3, 2010, I visited my surgeon for my 6 month check up. He was very happy about my progress. My blood pressure
is down, my thyroid numbers are down and my diabeties numbers are down. So far  I have lost 116 lbs! I thank God for my
progress and I Also thank Dr. Gus Slotman for performing the surgery successfully. I have followed the program that he set
out for me since surgery. I am very thankful to my wife for her support before and after the surgery. I would also like to thank
my support group and our coordinator, Cheryl Marks, for the support they have provided as well.
