24 hours from now . . . I will be in recovery
on July 20, 2010 10:03 am
One day to go . . . I'm excited about my new journey.   Nervous, of course, and it seems I get more nervous by the hour.  I have had some minor doubts over the past week or so but now I'm feeling confident about my decision and I'm prepared to move on.

I came in to work today, hoping the time would go by faster.  Sitting at home on an all liquid diet would make for a LONG DAY!   The clear liquid diet is not the best, but I can do anything for ONE day!  I lost 10lbs on the Pre-op diet aover the past two weeks and I feel my body is ready for the surgery and recovery process.  I'm very blessed to have many, many supporters that have been cheering me on and praying for me.

One Week and counting . . .
on July 14, 2010 2:48 pm

One week from today at this time I will be recovering from my surgery, probably eating ice chips, and pushing the ol' morphine drip.   I cannot believe it's almost here!  I've lost 6 lbs on the pre-op liver shrink diet so far.   The pre-op diet is getting harder for me.  I've having more an more urges to cheat.  I'm pretty stressed at work.  It seems to be helping because I am staying busy, but it's probably the source of my cheating urges.  It's also really hard to concentate on work.  I keep thinking of what to take to the hospital, what to buy at the grocery store, who can help me with this and that . . .
This weekend I'm going to finalize all of my lists ! !  It may sound weird but it reminds me of how I felt when I was getting close to full term with my kids.  When it was hard to concentrate on anything but finishing the nursery . . .. weird hunh?

I've been telling more and more people each week as my surgery date gets closer.  Most are very suprized but VERY SUPPORTIVE and happy for me.  I think they see my confidence about it and know I haven't made the decision lightly.

I'll try to update again a day or two before my surgery date . . .

Pre Op Diet
on July 8, 2010 10:03 am

Today is day 2 of the Liver Shrink PreOp diet.  Things are going okay so far.  I'm getting hungry but I just try to put off  eating my mid-morning snack and lunch as long as possible so I don't finish eating my meals at 7:00 at night and starve till bedtime.  Working okay so far, of course it's only been 2 days.  I'm dreading the weekend . . . .   Since vegetables are unlimited I think I will pull out my old WW recipe for vegetable soup and make that to get me though the next 2 weeks.

Exicted about the surgery.  I've taken my "biggest loser" before picture in the tank top and biker shorts.  UUUGGHH ! ! !    I plan to take a picture in the same clothes each month so I can see myself "shrinking".
