Mexico Surgery Experience

Well, I came through the surgery with flying colors! Dr. Ungson does a nice DS surgery. There were five of us that went down over the two weeks I was there, and Dr. Ungson did a fine job on all of us even though some of the other ladies were more high risk than me!
My husband is off until after the first to help me out around here, and that means he's on the computer most of the time. Also, we are doing lunch and movies like 3 days a week, and my pet adoption business is keeping me busy here at Christmas time. I had to go to a funeral the other day for a childhood friend of mine who passed away suddenly in his sleep at 44 years of age. He had no health issues, was thin...he had been complaining with a toothache, but would not see a dentist......Anyway, just goes to show--you never know! Anyhow, you can see from my activity level, I'm doing damn good for less than three weeks out. When I do have down time, I'm more in a "curl up in the recliner next to my kerosene heater and watch tv" mood than I am a get-on-the-computer mood. So that is why I have been AWOL/MIA.
As for eating.....my mouth still LUV food, but what's left of my stomach says, "sorry can't help you out!" I am full after only a few bites, even though I wish I could KEEP EATING! Thus, I overeat a lot, and have a stomach ache much of the time. I'm pushing the envelope and REALLY glad I did not have an RNY! I would still be on popsicles and jello, and I could NOT handle that! Comparatively, I'm eating like royalty! Yesterday for breakfast my daughter and I went to Waffle House and I had decaf coffee(w/cream) and a scrambled egg with cheese. For lunch I had about a quarter can of smoked oysters on a couple Ritz Crackers. (I got mad at hubby when I got home and found he had finished off my carb option EGGNOG!--That stuff RULES!--gotta get more today!). Then, for dinner I had like 3/4 of a weenie with a little cheese and chili. I have been craving sushi, so Hubby and I will probably do a chinese buffet for lunch today. I can also eat the oriental soups. Been trying to get the French onion soup at TGIFridays, but haven't had any luck. We ate there last weekend, went there especially so I could get that soup, and the waiter comes out and apologizes saying they are out of the soup I ordered. I only made a MILD scene, although what I felt like doing was breaking some chairs over tables!!!
I just keep remembering what Ms. Natt (local DS friend who I've lunched with) says, this is just TEMPORARY having to eat like a bird! I've seen her eat, and at less than 5 months she can put away part of a salad, a baked potato and all her shrimp scampi. And she's still losing. (Four months seems like a LOoooooOOOng time right now, tho ) But, I guess this eating less is the idea, and maybe, just MAYBE, the reason I seem to have lost around 20 pounds so far!
Anyway, enough for now....You all can see I don't have any LEGITIMATE complaints.

The Incision Scar (Only Dr. Ungson and Dr. Baltasar do this less-problematic horizontal incision.)
Me and Terri B. in the gardens outside Hotel Colonial. Terri had surgery the day after me.
Me and Emily -- Emily had surgery 3 days after me.

YES! My first food post-op--Scrambled Eggs and Refried Beans! It was HEAVEN!
Mine and Terri's big outing to Mexico WalMart! Terri gets a push from David, my husband, since she's a day less post-op than me. Today I must walk it!
Does Vodka count as a "clear liquid?" HaHa!
