It's too soon to say whether or not I'll be one of the ones that can benefit from the DS without working the tool, but I'm being the guinea pig!!! Well, I actually don't eat WHATEVER I want, or I would go down and get a box of Ding Dongs and a can of cake frosting and eat the WHOLE things. But, the DS has offered me Steak and Deviled Eggs (as much as I want) so long as I limit simple carbs, and I'm a reasonable woman--I'll take that DEAL! And I aint been perfect on my end of that deal. For instance, I had a sub sandwich the other night with WHITE BREAD *GASP!* I did not pay a heavy price in the "other end" department, either!

But the amount I'm eating of these luxurious food items and the scale still moving in a downward direction blows my mind! My metabolism has obviously changed! Maybe I'm a freak (like a man) and will continue to lose despite myself, or stop losing before I'm ready, but so far, SO GOOD!

Life is SO GOOD!

February 14, 2006 (Valentine's Day!)

I've been bad. I ordered a Fudgey Nut basket to be delivered to my husband's office with a stuffed gorilla and balloons. The basket has chocolate pretzels, mint/choc. covered oreos, m&ms trail mix, biscotti, and BROWNIES! Now my husband doesn't like nuts. () What person in their right mind doesn't like nuts?! Anyway, I deliberately made one of the brownies a caramel nut so it would be for ME! (I already left the place with cheese straws to go!).

Now Sunday night I laid awake feeling guilty and thinking I have GOT to get control of my eating. Sunday, in addition to healthy, protein-rich meals, I also had an ice cream cone and Hubby and I split a bag of potato chips. I got up Monday morning and weighed! Bye-bye GUILT! I was down 2 pounds!!! This doesn't give me much incentive to lay off the carbs, yanno?!

I AM exercising, so maybe that's how I'm getting away with this. Do yawl get the Lime? Network? Well, at 12:30 central time they have pilates and then at 1:00 yoga. The workouts SEEM really easy, especially since they have commercials breaking them up! But MAN are my muscles sore after doing them! I feel so much more mobile and flexible with all the stretching. I can't stand workouts with a lot of movement. With these there is just a little, very controlled, movement. If it's nice out, after this I go walking.

Anyway, Hubby (who makes EVERYTHING into a competition) has been cutting back on sweets since I had my DS, and he's lost between 5-10 pounds. My first goal is to weigh LESS than he does. I have forbidden him to get below 185, saying that if he does I'm gonna need to find me a man with some meat on his bones! But this isn't likely, since Hubby bounces around somewhere between 200-210 lbs. I have ONLY around 20 pounds to go to weigh less than him!!! Maybe the Fudgey Nut basket will mess him up more than it does me!!!
